I agree that it looks a little different now. As I recall from first reading about them, they were going to run something like 5 grand. |

This is one majorly overpriced bit of kit. It costs thousands of s and I am informed that the vinyls it produces are not a durable as regular vinyl.
Would actually like to hear if anyone has experience with this equipment of the vinyle it produces.
Cheers

it costs in the region of 5000 if i remember right
And i too have headr the plates are only good for a few plays....
I have some 'normal' acetates and they sill play after years (not of heavy use- but you get the idea).
I was told these only play a few times before they are oversized coasters |

Actually I heard they last longer then normal dub plates but are not quite as durable as real vinyl. |

i suppose thats ok if your a cdj or a leacher
people need vinyls though for their TTs
mind you it is possible to find all those rare records at some point so i guess this is an overpriced piece of kit for people wanting their own tunes on vinyl |

It's more aimed at local shops, like record stores.
Then you can come in with your demo's and ask they cut some testrecords for you. They would be out of their expenses pretty quick. As a particular person you wouldn't. |

ummm, no on both counts.... I'm a DJ, plain and simple... I know how to use bot vinyl and CD. In today's world you really should know how to use both. For the price of that thing, I could buy the CDJ's, 2 turntables a $1000 mixer and still have at least $1,000.00 left over for new records and CD's...
The only thing this is good for is to make copies of your own music and play it at the club... But you could do it for a hell of alot less if you just burned it to CD. If you're making your own music and want to hear it out, burn it on cd and save yourself the cash...
Do yourself a favor and invest in CDJs if you want to play newly created music out... |
