I would be against having to have the pictures watermarked as it is not necessary. I am for a gallery since we all the pictures end up on this site anyhow. Maybe there can be a way to have link in the TOTA gallery to all the off site galleries or something along those lines?

Perhaps we could combine the 2 ideas then. Users who already host their images on private servers could have it remain that way. Maxtuh's Trance365.com site seems to be the only host that requires a login/pass, but I'm sure I could convince him to do otherwise. All other major hosts ie. travelninja.com and djeso.com are already publicly accessible.
A TA photo album could allow members who do not already have a private host to have their images hosted using the TA server. All other 3rd party private server links could then be linked to this providing a central place for everyone to view their images.
All photo event links could also be indexed in a similar fashion as the masterlist. ie. event, date, DJ's, photo links, etc.

or how bout this...let the pics be hosted on all teh 3 different servers in their own galleries and ask Le Brain Swamps to creat a php scrip that automatically accesses those server folders and displays them as thumbnails/a gallery on a TA page..
i dunno how hard it may be to come up with thtat..so...... |

There's actually another regional forum that does this (i can't recall which one right now), but what they have is 1 sticky for EVents.. and beside each event there's a link to "Reviews" and "pics". Everything is well organized and kept in order.
IF i find the link i'll post it, or if anyone else knows it , pls. share..

I believe it is Montreal. Problem is the amount of work involved. The time I waste doing that I could use doing something more productive.
The idea that LKD mentioned is more along the lines of what I had in mind.

I could help you maintain it .. or maybe TechnoADdict.. i think we waste a good chuck of our time with those lists already .. ;)
Liam's idea could work as well, but somebody would have to program the script if there already isn't a plugin that does that. Moveoever the site owner's permission would need to be obtained as well as the photographers I suppose?

I was looking at Photopost earlier last year see here - I've been hesitant to put it in because vBulletin 3.0 was supposed to already have been released but they keep pushing it back so I guess I have no choice but to try and implement this into the current version and then see how it would work when the new one comes out

well thats a given...
it is quite possible to pull this off but its gonna take time unles we get one of the 234535354 computer science students/graduates on TA to do something in a jiffy |

Agreed, linking all different galleries should do the trick.
I think priority should have other issues mentioned in this sub-forum. |
