All I have to say about the BCS is that it's nothing but BS!!!

The USC Trojans finished number 1 in both the ESPN/USA Today and AP Poll and still got raped by the BCS system. They ended up 3rd in the BCS and will end up playing at the Rose Bowl vs. Michigan.

There is a good possibility that if USC beats Michiagan, USC can split the National Champinship crown with the winner of the National Chamionship game between Oklahoma and LSU. Not to take anything away from Oklahoma and LSU. They're both great football teams, but my Trojans are a damn great football team too. There has to be another way to decide this.

Get rid of the BCS once and for all!!!

I'm not sure if thats necessary. I think the bcs is better than nothing. With the only better alternative being a playoff which lets face it aint happening. So with that said, I think 2 changes can be made to fix it. The first is that if both polls have the same two teams ranked 1 & 2 in the same order than they play for the national championship. The second(and far less important) is to add margin of victory back to at least some of the computers.

Yeah the BCS stinks and they will never go to a playoff system (no matter how great it works for I-AA etc) because of the money. Unfortunately, all the changes the continue to implement are to try and help Notre Dame. I mean c'mon 26 bowl games? 52 teams...that's like 3/8 the D-I teams...and Nortre Dame still can't make it in...ROFL.

I just like giving ND a hard time :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

I just hope Okla rolls LSU and Michigan punks out USC. I hate USC... always think they deserve to be in the Championship game... YOU PLAY IN THE PAC-10 FOR GODS SAKE!!! At least Oklahoma lost in the Big 12 championship game and LSU lost to Florida.. USC lost to CAL!!! Sheesh. If they scheduled a Georgia, Florida State, Pitt or anyone like that, then maybe yeah... but come on.. you guys played ARIZONA!! And to be fair, I'm a Gators fan so it's not like I'm biased or anything towards the Sooners.

As far as the BCS goes, I think the best, but most unlikely occurence, would be to have the top 4 teams play in two of the 4 BCS bowls with the winner playing in the designated championship game and the losers playing in the other one (1 v. 4 and 2 v. 3). For instance this year, it could be:

Fiesta Bowl/Rose Bowl/Orange Bowl:
Oklahoma Vs. Michigan

Either 2 remaining bowls:
LSU Vs. USC

Sugar Bowl:
Winner of both games

Remaining Bowl:
Loser of both games

And like they have now, just keep rotating the bowls between who gets what bowl. It would be the fairest and it would make the bowl games actually mean something again besides just the Championship bowl... but this idea would never come into play. Ah well.

Cheers,
Terry

Come on Sebby, no reply? I seriously want to hear a USC fan's thoughts on my opinion.

Whew!!! Finals are over...Now back to this thread.

First off, USC has one of the best wide receivers in the game and a pretty impressive quarterback for his first year as a starter. The rest of the team has tremendous strength and knows how to mix it up very well offensively and defensively.

Secondly, I'm pretty sure every division has a crappy team. Arizona is our crappy team for the Pac-10. Arizona St. had a bad year but was a pretty competitive football team last year. UCLA and Stanford were pretty good footabll teams until they both got new coaches so those teams will take a while to redevelop themselves. Cal is one team that I cannot explain. They either have their really good games and then they have their bad games. They lack consistency. As for Washington, Washington St, Oregon, and Oregon St, with the exception of this year they have been Top 25 caliber teams for quite some time. Maybe the Pac-10 just isn't impressive this year.

Thirdly, USC played with both hands behind their backs vs Cal who in my mind played their hearts out in front of their home crowd and the Trojans still managed to take it to 3 overtimes. Shame on Oklahoma for losing 35-7. I don't care what game it was or who they played, losing by that margin is totally unacceptable. LSU, aside form their one loss had a solid year.

If you think about it this way, Oklahoma, LSU and USC all had a bad game, but has dominated all their other games. Michigan by far played a great season, playing in the toughest division IMO.

Last but not least, "Is it a coincidence that USC is currently ranked #1 in both polls?" I don't think so. Don't take my word for it, the majority of the people out there say that USC should be in the championship game. It's the 7 computers that blew it for USC and I'm actually glad this happened. Maybe they need to make some fixes to make the calculations better.

So if USC beats Michigan, then will that be enough to make everyone believe that USC is a National Cahmpion. No! Why?, because the Oklahoma/LSU winner and their fans will still claim that they are the better team. Even if USC loses by a few points vs. Michigan, the Trojans still had an awesome year and no one can take that away from them. All I can say for now is that there are three maybe 4 pretty damn good football teams. It's too bad that three way ties for the National Championship doesn't exist, cuz that's how I picture it at the moment.

Crave the Rave! It must be a miracle that you hate every team that I like and that I hate every team you like. I do respect your opinion though. Have a great New Year.

The only hope BCS has is that USC loses!
If USC wins, I'll support them as the National Champs and screw the BCS! And screw Oklahoma, they never even won their conference...

Go trojans!! I was at the game :)

Oh and the bcs sucks

Come on college football, bite the bullet and get a playoff system going. Hell I'm sure if you did it right you could make more money than you do under the current system.
