looking at the market, the x.1 system setups now seem to be the next thing, replacing the old 2 speaker setup. my current 2 speakers are old and . i dont have alot of room on my desk and dont often get to use speakers anyway, hence the £50 price limit. i most i can fit here realistically is a 4.1 system, providing the sub isnt huge.
the only two i have looked at are:
Creative Inspire 4.1 4400 - OEM (SP-008-CL)
Logitech Z-540 4.1 Speakers - 40 Watts (SP-003-LG)
i dont 'blast' music, but i notice both the satellite speakers in these setup's are both like 6watts. im no sound person, but i cant image 6watts pumping out much.
whats the best to buy? only essential item is a headphone jack.
thanks. |

I've only got a sound blaster live platinum so I cant get 5.1 surround, only FourPoint surround, but thats good enough for me. Sound reasonable, well worth the 70-odd quid I paid for them. If you gotta 5.1 sound card (which I'm sure you do) then you could go for these:
5.1 Surround
FourPoint Surround

I think the speakers that I've got now are about £50 now, but I haven't checked so don't hold me to that. And they go much louder than you might think too.

Dammit, you made me find a picture of my speakers. 400W Altec Lansing. I paid $140 US dollars which included shipping. Will knock the wife, kids, dog, cat, mice, and roaches out of the house at volume, although I never crank hardly 100W of the potential. Check it out, cheaper and as powerful as the Klipitsch or whatever they're called.;)
