Same here, to be precise:

2x Soundlab belt driven crappy turntables (dunno what the model was, it was black though).
1x Kam (I think, the face was scratched to ) mixer that just had, headphone volume with a selector to choose which channel to listen to, 2 faders and a crossfader, and 2 phono/line selectors, oh and it had some pretty lights for the volume.
2x crappy crappy carts with no names on them, the main feature with these carts is they can skip more than any other cart out there, they put Ortofon and Shure to shame.:D

this was bak in fall of 1998, i was djing at a house party in a basement. i had 3 tape decks :wtf: :o 1 amplifier, 1 cd deck (kenwood):o :o :o no mixer. 4 home theatre speakers. :o :o :o

the cross fader was broken on the mixer, and there was no eq. So I could only fade in and fade out.

plus they had the real old technics, but they were pretty solid.

years ago i was at friend's house. he had 1 gemini xl-100 and 1 gemini xl-500 with some crappy old mixer with no eq's. it was aweful.
Freak
one of the clubs i used to warm up in before i turned professional

two screwed 1210s- one randomly changed pitch all the time.

Mixer with noisy faders

denon 1800f that didnt like using cdrs or originals

No spilt cue on the ixer and no monitor

massive delay on the system

no real bass bins- meaning it was drum&treble

all part of the learning curve- and its made me a better dj having to play in such places

I used 2 gemini belt driven TT's and a radio shack mixer made by realistic...
I thought I was the shiet...
Dj_Psygnosis
two verrrrrry crappy Stantons, a shocking mixer in where the volume levels where all wrong and my headphone, i was using a ear phone, you know those that you plug into your ear listening to the discman.

i was using this setup to do mixes for radio hehe

DJ Nuclear
one time I played a house party with 2 half broken beltdriven numarks (person who owned them was scratching on them, motors were ed) and a numark mixer with a horrible bleeding crossfader...bad night...

There was this other time I was djing on a really good set up (2 stanton st100 and a decent mixer) but the needles were so crappy that sound was only coming out of one speaker totally distorted.
Moral: Bring own needles!
