anyone else flu infested?

| the disease is running rampant. it's all over my campus and apparently the country as well. i got a prescription for tamiflu, the stuff that is supposed to make the flu go away sooner. anyone tried it? i'm so bored being in bed and in my apartment all day, but i can't manage anything else. commiseration, anyone? |

I had the flu already(caught the beginning of the wave). I had a headache and soar throat the night before and then woke up the next morning feeling like ass.
Well, i didn't want to miss class because we were getting some grades back and such, so I go to class, and turns out she didn't even give us our grades, that bitch. I felt really really bad, so i left early and walked to my campus' health center.
I went there around 9:35ish, and the woman at the desk said i could make an appt for 12:30 or wait in line, and the line was short, so i chose the latter. RIGHT when they called my name I started tryin to throw up(only dryheave). Then, they found out i was dehydrated, and popped 2 bags of saline into my arm through IV. I then went home and was essentially in bed for 6 days with a fever bouncing around, but staying near 102-103 for most of the time. I missed a lot of my classes, and fell behind, and probably failed a math exam because of it(find out tomorrow =P).
Anyway, get your flu shots if you can. My roommates were around when I got sick, but neither has gotten a flu shot yet, and hasn't gotten sick still.
I still recommend you all get shots if you can. Its NO FUN at all. Basically I got a 6 day long flu shot hehe. I'm immune now, but was not worth it.

For anyone thats sick just drink lots of fluids, OJ and water,Vitamin C and Gatorade to help get electrolytes back in your system
I always take a multi-vitamin daily with 100% zinc. Zinc is also good for the immune system so grab some zinc if you can find it. |

| i got the flu shot 2 months ago and got the strain of the flu that it didnt cover 2 weeks ago. tamiflu works well, that's what i got when i went to the doctor. be sure to take the time to get extra rest even after your symptoms go away cause the virus is still there supposedly for a few more days. |

oohhh, i'm beating it off all right!! muahaha! sorry, i couldn't resist. i really have the sense of humor of a 12-year-old boy.
i am feeling remarkably decent today, but i did just wake up. the cough thing is kicking in, but my roommate has some cough syrup with hydrocodone (what's the difference between hydrocodone and codeine?) so i might get into that later.
srezic, you make me feel silly for complaining -- you really had it bad! and sunshine, i think as long as you wash your hands after reading this thread you should be ok. i promise not to breathe on you! |

I dunno if I have "the flu" or just some weird general malaise but It has already cost me 100 bucks in lost work and if I am not better in the morning it is another 100 bucks out of my pocket.
Had to pay 9 bucks for a damn digital thermometer at the store (they don't sell the old fashioned ones anymore) and it told me my temp was 97.6. I guess that must be normal for rodents...not sure.
