Hercules DJ Console (pg. 2)

| This kind of thing reminds me of what I've been messin around with for the past little bit. My PCDJ setup. Everyone thinks that this stuff is beginner like but seriously, I really think that in time, the old school style, which I think is the most respectful owner of the scene, is going to have to evolve. I have my laptop in conjunction with the gigaport usb connector that allows me to directly attach my Numark DXM-06 mixer and it sounds great. I haven't really gained confidence to enter the club scene just yet for the same reason's that people were knockin on earlier. I plan on getting some sort of cool hardware that mounts onto a standard dj rack such as the DMC controller or something and maybe I'll get out there. I'm open to anyone's comments. |

Don't worry about the ravings of an old dinosaur like me ;).
If you really believe in what you are doing then I say go for it. Only thing I would advise though is that you get the tracks you are going to play as originals, as public performance laws can sting you really badly if you are not careful. With MP3s and stuff I mean.

Traktor is very good...
The DJ will have to evolve, but i think it will evolve the Final Scratch way. That's why it is called Final Scratch. It's the best thing i've played with. It combines the power of mp3 (or wav files) with the touch of the turntables.
I say go for the DMC, feels more like the real thing. Most people won't even notice... and if you really want to cover it up, just bring some cd's to wave around while playing :D

| That brings up another question....if final scratch, which if I could afford I would be all over, uses mp3's then does that mean that there is a lack of quality somewhere too or does the system do some sort of enhancement. PVD who I know uses it is definetly not the person that would allow any type of quality lag anywhere. And thanks for the advice Nerm cause although I haven't played my setup over a huge system, it would have to be proven to me that it's not "as" good of quality as a wav file cause it sounds mint both played and recorded with my stuff. Thanks. |

When PVD plays he uses different file types that are also supported by FS. These files have higher quality and so on. People also forget that PVD still uses vinyl but that's a whole other story. :)
I understand that you need to hear it with your own ears which is fair enough. Problem being that it's hard to access those types of systems unless you know someone who has a club or runs a major sound system.

I finally bought that thingy, and what I can say is that it ownz :)
It can look to be something for kiddies but it isn't. It works exactly like a cdj, and it is even more customisable (depends of the software u are using). I tried it with Virtual Dj and after changing some settings, everything works like a charm. Pitch precision is 0.1 if u use +8/-8 settings. +10/-10 & +34/-34 also available.
U can also download effects from Virtual Dj website to use them instead of the one which are integrated (flanger and I don't remember the 2 others).
The responsivness is excellent...
I will use that thing a lot :) |

| Not yet, but I am sure there will be more compatible appz soon. But virtual dj does already a very good work (but traktor would be of course way better) |

| Hi everybody i've read this thread. But it's now a month ago that someone did answer over here. I'm willing to buy the Hercules Dj Console but want to know more about it of people who use(d) it. I know uselly use Mixmeister.. Who can tell me more about the mixing with the Dj Console. |

Sorry dude... can't help you there. Although I would advise you to perhaps look into more standard DJ tools if that is where your heart is heading. :)

| I know i should look @ more stuff. I had 2 cdj-20 's of gemini but i couldnt get along with them ... it always turned into a fight.. so then i met my computer and on this thing i can mix a bit.. so i was thinking to buy the hercules dj console and maybee got a feeling of a dj... |
