Reasoners using FL4 n VSTs

been using reason since 1.0 and as much as i love 2.5, i am totally rocked as for why it has no vst (or dxi) support. i finally got fed up enough to want to expand out of my Reason v2.5, Recycle, Rebirth, Cool Edit Pro shell but i didnt know what to get.

i played around with cubase sx and didnt really find it super intuitive. i envisioned myself exporting my reason waves and using the reason sequencers to export midis into cubase and then export vst instrumentation as waves and still mastering with CEP rather than using rewire support just because cubase seemed so counterintuitive.

anyway, i eventually gave in to curiousity and picked up fruity loops studio 4. i have to admit, the sequencer seems to suck. i'm not into pattern (or sequence) based composing at all, i still prefer the reason sequencer. BUT, despite some initial confusion because of the lack of a "routing" equivalent like my trusty "tab" key in reason, i found myself really diggin FL4. i still totally dont 'get it' but it seems really adept at edm creation. it has preset chords, which makes life so much easier. other similarities. and everything from the osc's to the Lfo's seem to have more control. (or maybe just the lfo's graphical representation provides an illusion). and a built in speech synth. neat.

unfortunately, i'm still working out the confusion on how to use the piano roll/patterns/sequences.

just some thoughts. there is really TOO many options for producers these days. it would take too much time to learn them all perfectly.

this shouldn't be in the promotion section, but the production section ;)

yes fruityloops is more powerfull than people think, many under estimate it.

it goes great! with VST combos, but the problem i had with FL, is i couldn't use many VST's , coz of my weak PC, i can do more in reason, also i liked the unique sound of the substractor more, and it's reallly easy to use, compared with FM7, Absynth, Vaz2010, ZETA(i think)

Z3TA. I love that synthesizer. 6 Oscillators, and many effects, which is great for electronic music. I find myself using it a bit more these days, whenever I'm looking for a different sound. -Mental
