I'm excited, just got a cd turntable. Now my question is this :

1) I know your supposed to buy cds and spin them but it gets so damn expensive, right ? So I'm sure your not "supposed" to, but can you rip/burn songs off let's say the HUB, and put them in ur turntable, and still expect a high quality of sound ????

2) I see sales for cd Samples, and Loops and stuff.. What exactly is that used for? Do they have cds with FX on them, if so are they any good?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated in advance.

LOL. Are you serious? You have nothing better to do than to say some ignorant, loudmouthed as* s**t, like that? I was merely asking .... You think everyone has money to buy cds and records, whenever they want ?

Man your mom must have fed you paint thinner when you were a kid NELL.

I feel sorry for your a**.

Speaking of which, wasn't "Nell" The name of a jodie foster movie, where she lives in some backward a** country forest, and is completely mute and has her own language?

Figures, looks like thats where you've been hiding all this time, ey?
Nell
nope.

im just sick to death of the amount of free music grabbers like yourself, that love to hold out their hands and keep asking for more. if you can afford cd decks, a PC, internet connection and the clothes you were wearing in your avatar b4 you changed it, you can obviously afford cds. your are one of the reasons the likes of hooj choons collapsed, because you would rather DL the mp3 and never ever buy the release. hell hooj were only asking for £1 per cd for the entire month of august, but unfortunately people like you decided they still couldnt be arsed to part with any cash, and continued to DL the music without buying at all (hooj is just an example).

ten quid says you only signed up with Ta in hte first place to get on the frickin hub. otherwise if you read/posted here often enough, you would be able to predict that you would undoubtedly get flames for such a post, baiting the buyers of music.

end of rant.

DAMN THAT RAP MUSIC

I agree with Nell. Though I wouldn't have put it in such a harsh way (but hey, at least it's clear :) )

People shouldn't just decide to buy equipment and then end up having no money left and resorting to play burned CDs. I hate it. Especially since there are enough people spending sh*tloads of money on vinyl and / or original CDs.

By the way, of course there is a difference between burned MP3s and original CDs. The difference in file size between WAV and MP3 means data is lost when encoding to MP3. It's mostly the inaudible frequencies but there still is a difference (especially on 128 kbps).

To answer your 2nd question (hey I'm a nice guy :) ) :
sample CDs can be used for production. They don't contain tracks, they contain samples (of which you can build tracks, for example in FruityLoops or Reason). No use for them in DJing, only producing.

If there are complete loops on them (which are built from various samples), then they can be used by DJs, to add something to their tracks or mixes..

yeah im having a bad day :p normally i just wouldnt bother replying! :D

soem of those loops cds are great btw, you can also use them in sets if you are using 3 inputs like 2 decks and a cd player to do soem wicked things, but i find it dosent work well with trance + prog, more housey stuff. ive never use dhtem production wise yet so i cant comment.

LOL!

"SO YOUNG SO ANGRY!!DAMN THAT RAP MUSIC!"

hahahaha a little too much dr dolittle 2, doncha think?

Still the way that chameleon says that line just cracks me up!

Anyways my 2 cents.

Sure if u wanna be a dj, the least you can do is support other djs by buying their cds.I mean who knows, you might turn pro and when u wanna sell records, people would just download them of the net.(And FFS, please dont mention the hub in the forums anymore:) )

Well, if you DO wanna download music, go ahead and download those songs from britney spears or justin timberlake who are already rich farks who dont really care if their album sells or not.

Its already hard enough cause trance generally is basically underground in most parts of the world.

First of all it was just a question Nell, no need to jump out of ur pants and give urself a freagin heartattack. Secondly, i've got 2 technics, and about 240 12". So dont you worry, i'm supporting the music just like you. I picked up a cd turntable cause yes, I make plenty of money and can afford to. But what am I going to do? Go and track down EVERY SINGLE CD THAT I EVER WANTED , just to support the music? NO. What you dont' burn ANY CDS your whole life? Cause you'd be a HYPOCRITE if you did, NELL.

YOu came off arrogant and rude, and that's why I came back at like you I Did. But geesh, it was a question. Bad day or not, dont judge me like you know me from one signle question.

I've been a TA for awhile, and no i didn't join to be on the hub, cause if u know, not all TA's are on the HUB, smarty.

Secondly, you can keep your ten quid.

Thirdly Nell, thanks for the adivce on the loops.
