Alice Deejay - Celebrate Our Love (Solid Sessions Remix)
- another example how to do a great, very different remix from a crappy original

Jewel - Stand (Markus Schulz Coldharbour Mix)
- not much in common with the original either. MS Club Mix has much more vocals but i prefer the Coldharbour Mix.

Yeah! Great example ... I'm listening to DJ Tiesto @ TE2000 and this song came on as I read that ... :D :D

It's so diff from the original .. a totally new monster tune!
sykadelik
Apollo 440 - Stop the Rock (Gigolo Instrumental)
Vigilante
Some of my favourite remixes that sound different from the original:

ATB - 9PM (Signum Remix)......very old!
Balearic Bill - Destination Sunshine (DJ Tiesto Mix)
Madonna - What it feels like for a girl (Paul Oakenfold Mix):D
Ayla - Ayla (Veracocha Mix)
Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (Pulser Remix)
Evanescence - Hello (Trifactor vs Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
Plummet - Damaged (Antillas Mix)
Chicane - Saltwater (Thrillseekers Mix):eyespop:
Delerium - Silence (DJ Tiesto Mix):D :eyes: :eyespop:

In my opinion, the classics get remixed too often. They should not be remixed unless it is an absolutely brilliant Mix, otherwise it is just detracting from the original.

I agree!!

That just seems to be the idealism of many artists nowadays. Remix a classic and try to give it a new life, but sadly at most parts, they haven't really succeeded to do so. I've said this many times b4 but IMO trance of today is mostly disappointing anyway. Every track sound too similar with each other, no originality. Just borrow someone else's stuff. The "supersaw" trance is just getting very very very boring more and more every day.
montana
ayumi hamasaki - vogue (junkie xl dub)
OMG what a masterpiece, sounds nothing like the original
ojste
coldplay - clocks (marvo V bootleg) :eyespop:
muravei
Well there's no question about what the most genious remix is...

Adam Beyer - Ignition Key (Speedy J remix) [true1202] :D
Snooper
Vengaboys - Cheekah Bow Bow (Transa Remix)
Vengaboys - Paradise (Dumonde Remix)
Vengaboys - Uncle John From Jamaica (M.I.K.E. Remix)

All quality remixes of crappy originals.
forsakend
Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone (Signum Mix)

this mix takes the song from the cheddar cheez category to actually pretty of a credible quality tch00n.

Brooklyn Bounce - Club bizzare (DJ Scot Project Remix)(clicky)

only simularity to original is some wacko saying 'club bizzare' and some heavy bass at the start and end, prety sick track made me go nuts @ a club when the dj played it, i ran and asked him the name of the remix.
