Since I asked this in the cue file thread it might never get answered so I'll ask here. When you have a 3 hour mp3 and a 3 hour cue sheet, what is the easiest way to burn 3 cds? Split into seperate mp3s with some utility, or manually create 3 cue files and 3 mp3s? Can any burning software just burn the middle or end portion of a long mp3 without having to cut it up?

Just download hjsplit . That software will slit the files (set) on equally portions !
Hope it helps

You don't want equal files though. I'm trying to figure out the fastest way to make 3 cds from a long mp3 with a long cue file.

a long cue file?

I think you have to split the music file itsslef first. A cue file just tells you where the splits are.

hhmmm, unless you tried a few things like create 3 cue sheets, at the INDEX 01 00:00:00 you put the start point. so the second cd would look like INDEX 01 80:00:00 er something like that.

the thing I can't think of is the ending, usually the last track goes til the end. And I don't know of a command to end the cue. google for it and I am sure might be able to find something.

Seems like some software should be able to burn the middle portion of an mp3 without having to split it into smaller files.

I use a program called Mp3Splitter
you can download it from www.download.com

it allows you to split songs by setting specific points to start the next track. it also lets you split up into equal segments of time/hd space

cool, simple program. does the trick

once you have the 3 files, if you want to split them on the CD into seamless tracks, then make 3 different cues pertaining to the 3 new mp3s

hope that helps
