Why can't more artists do this?

Wouldn't it be amazing if PvD decided to put all his unreleased tracks up for download on his site?

Yeah, but if they're unreleased they're not making money on them anyway...Maybe the deal with PvD and other artists is problems with labels not wanting them to release their remixes?

I'm not sure on this, if an artist remixes a tune but the artist of the original tune rejects it, can the artist of the remix still find a way to release the remix?

yes it would. but those tracks would no longer be special and his sets wouldnt be exclusive. its all for the live experience and really thats what pvd deserves the most credit for.

on the other hand, sander is in cool. gotta love him

yes, because labels have rights to tracks, and if a label sees a remix as profitable, they would be convinced to release it even if the artist doesn't think it should.

i think some times unreleased mixes have samples etc without all the necessary permission.

like i said, $$$$$$

many artists don't want remixes to be released because they're afraid the mixes will outsell the original.
