This is quite off topic, but I do not have any other place to go. So, I reckon you brits know this. I have 10 scottish pounds here, and I wonder, can I use these pounds in England with no problems of acceptance and with the same exchange rates?
*HaRRy*
yes.
Coup
not quite, not everywhere in england takes scottish, but if u walk into any english bank, or any scottish bank, they'll exchange the currency free of charge, even if you dont bank with them.

Hmm...Say you walked in to McDonalds and wanted to buy something. Would they accept it?

Did you know that if someone offers you change with more than 20p’s worth of pennies your in your legal right to refuse it.

that maybe right, but i think u may have it wrong, but i know that business paying in accounts dont accept coppers, so business's 'can' refuse mass copper payment because if they dont exhange them into silver some other way, the bank wont accept them for their business paying in. tho both points maybe true.

Locazor, i dunno, your best bet would be have it changed into english, any bank will do it free, and u can find banks everywhere.

the most sickening thing in the world is when ya go to somewhere like butlins in scotland, and ya give them sterling from "Ulster Bank", and they say "sorry, we can't accept it, it's not sterling"

in stupid bastards!!! :whip:

I think possibly they are both right. I know there is also limits for other tender, like a fiver in 5p’s or something, too!

Also, I found out the other day, that if you pay for a bus ticket or taxi ride and you think they are ripping you off, you can give your name and address to them and tell them to take it to the small claims court!
