I'm looking for the best price on FinalScratch, and other than Ebay, I'm mostly finding only stuff around $499. is that really the best price around? also, is 1.0 cheaper than 1.1 and if so, is it worth it? I think you get 1.0 with the 1.1 purchase, so its probably a better idea to go the whole way and get 1.0 ... lemme know what you guys have found as far as deals.

I don't know if you can still buy FS v1.0 anymore, anyways I got v1.1 and it's working great on my pIII 700mhz laptop. I got it here in Tronoto for $799 + tax, but I think that it's worth every penny. So much fun to play with. It is a great investment. Now saving up for Xone:92

Damn, 800 bucks? what does that convert to in American dollars? and how much of your hard drive does the actual program and the OS take up?

Check out the www.finalscratch.com forums as I am sure most of your questions can be answered there.

That said, OS takes about 400 MBs when I installed mine I had resently reformated (the only Windows cure all) and thoght ahead and left space for FS, just something to be aware of (though they have some other install options, like shrink a FAT32 drive by 400 MBs so it can install). I don't think you will find a much better price then 500 bucks (maybe 10, 20 bucks cheaper at some places but that is it). I would say definitly get version 1.1 (aka TraktorFS) though if you are really cheap you can buy the 1.0 version (if you can find it) and then buy the upgrade, it will probably be a little less money. However I would not do this as you will get the original FS vinyl which is much lighter then the 180 gram "standard" record that most "mixing" (not scratching) DJs prefer.
