As an alternative to the DJM-600 I would rather get either an Allen&Heath Xone:32 or Xone:62 ... compared to those two, Pioneer feels like a toy.
I played several times on the DJM-500 and DJM-600 and my impression is that these are very nice mixers but they are certainly not worth their pricetag. I find the channel faders to be a little too short for my liking (I mix with channel faders only) and the mixer has features that I would never need (most effects, BPM counter) so why pay for stuff I don't want to use. On the other side, many clubs and events have the Pioneer mixers set up so chances are that you will be playing on familiar equipment, which is always a nice bonus ...
You need to figure out if all the bells and whistles on the DJM-600 are useful to you ... if not, there's many superior mixers in that pricerange. |
