I never actually thought it would be this hard a decision!;)

the only real option is trial and prison if he's guilty. i am not saying he's not guilty, but everyone should have a fair trial and be presumed innocent until the court can prove otherwise ( i don't think it will be that hard to prove him guilty)

those other options aren't really serious, only extremists come up with these solutions... (you must be one hahhaahahaha:stongue:)

i voted death sentence. I'm pretty sure the Iraqis would give him death in an Iraqi court. But since this might go to the world court (whatever its called :-\), and they don't give the death sentence, i don't really see it happening. I guess it is just hard to please everyone. My opinion is that it is the iraqis who should ultimately decide whether he lives or dies.

Any WMDs found in Iraq should be used on him... if none are found, then he rots in jail, humiliated daily in a variety of ways, which would be broadcast real-time for all the world to see on a website: www.saddamprisoncam.com

I say it's up to the Iraqi people. It's something of a lose-lose situation for the US. If the US seeks to hand him over to the UN the death penalty will not be sought and the Iraqis would view his trial as illegitimate justice done by the 'occupying' powers. By allowing Saddam to be tried by the Iraqis, many international bodies would not provide assistance given their opposition to the death penalty and many might perceive that as a trial convened by a US 'puppet' court. Personally, I couldn't give two s what anyone outside of Iraq thinks since the majority of Saddam's crimes were committed against the Iraqi people and therefore they have the ultimate say in his fate according to their system of law.

life imprisonment, the US needs to show the world it wont stoop to saddams level

an australian sattire news show conducted a survey on the streets of new york asking people what they would do to saddam if / when he was captured, the most common answer was to dissolve him slowly in a vat of acid, half of the people asked thought saddam was partly responsible for the 9/11 :/

But doesn't this assume that the US has jurisdiction over Saddam? After all, his primary victims are his own people, Kuwait, and Iran ...

i'd like to see him trialed in iraq, it would be a great eye opener for the iraqis, but im not sure that will happen

death sentence is out of the question. most of the world is against it, especially the UN. give him a trail, etc, most likely life imprisonment. I really really like this idea (of course it would take forever):

rumsfeld getting sent to pound me in the ass prison would be great!

I'd take away all his money and move him to hut in 3rd world country ruled by a nasty dictator. Use the hidden video cameras in his hut to film a new reality show.

In some ways his situation before we captured him was more suitable punishment. Living like a convict, hiding in a hole, silently watching his country move on with out him. He looked like a dishevield bum. If that aint justic i dont know what is.:haha:

My personal opinion about the verdict for murderous tyrants: :whip:

your being far to lienent I would give him at least two whips :whip: :whip:

In my opinion, the most legitimate process would allow the world court at try him for crimes against humanity, but the bush wont do that because well you know how much he likes international organizations.

Looks like he going to set up an Iraq court, hand picking the judges, and provided them with evidence they need. This will afford the US best way to control the verdict, prove the legitimacy of the war; under the guise that Iraqis are making the decision while US pulls all the strings. I'm also sure the trial will be televised; hell you couldn't buy better publicity heading into an election year.

LOL like the court that milosevic is running circles around now? I'm certain that Iraqis would be real pleased with that. The tenents of the world court allow local countries to conduct war crimes tribunal given careful observance of meticulous legal proceedings and an observance of rights.
