ok ok, i made a search on this but i couldnt find my answer (before i get flamed for not using the search button :) )

heres my problem, ive been spinning vinyl for a bit now but im having trouble cleaning my records. I have a record brush and an anti static cloth. When i put my brush on the record and i brush it (anti clockwise) i have 2 lines of dust on my record (where my brush was) i was wondering how do i get those lines off best with my cloth? (wouldnt i push the dust back in?) maybe a vaccum cleaner (lot of static?? )
I also seem to keep getting cracks and pops now matter how well i brush my record. Can this only be solved by wet cleaning? or could i put gruv glide over it while theres still dust in the record??

thanks for the help :)

Hmmm when i clean my records with a brush like that, i just gently go to the side when the record's still spinning, so the dust doesnt stay on the record when i lift the brush... don't know if you get what i mean :)

I have a vinyl washing kit. Where you put the record in a bath of solution and spin it around. Probably one of the best buys I ever made.

I actually got it quite a long time ago from HTFR (Yes I know..) but just had a look and couldn't find it.
Yes it does remove all the crackles and pops. It's made by Knosti or atleast that's what's written on the side of it.

try gruv glide...just have good air circulation when you use it though as you can get high (not the good kind of high) off the fumes quite easily.

im having trouble finding gruv glide in any EU online store, they only seem to sell em in the US and i dont want to pay 20% import taxes plus a whol eload of custom fees over that :(

every time i put a record on ill give it a quick wipe down on my shirt or something just to get rid of dust or whatever...

I also regularly go through my boxes and give all my records a clean with a calotherm (sp??) cloth and some vinyl cleaning fluid when im bored or having a sort out

im tempted by a record washer also-given the amount of vinyl i have it would make sense methinks.

It really does revitalize some of those seemingly knackered tracks. You will be suprised.
