Yea...umm...hi

So you think the Vestax PDX 2000 is better then the techie 1210's? I dunno, I tried them out inthe store, and I got to say they felt like they had more power....:P
j_spot
well..The start stop is amazing, torque is good. BUT its straight arm, and the casing is plastic.

I looked @ one too. They seem nice, but the Technics are nice. Ultra pitch is more of a gimmick. Who really need that much? Not me.
Ckerr812
The ultra pitch sounds pretty cool....I never had two of them going so I don't know if it works good....anybody have these tables?
D-Syde
Wow, Im surprised you got any responses with a title like " . "
sKyBreAK
Ultra pitch is useful
I've used it before
Belive me some records are a pain in the ass
Coz when they were pressed their tempo was like 100bpm (no kidding).
So the +8% pitch on the 1200's is not enough to speed it up to my usual 130-150... So ya..
Ckerr812
I need more then 8 too...example Daft Punk aerodynamik....Speed that puppy up and it sounds pretty good Trance.....slow it down and it sounds like house ....ehh...go figure....anyway, I think I am going to rent a couple of these decks....I want to see if they are good....As for the plastic casing...well that could be a good thing...I think I am getting a hernia lugging the ing technies around...those bastards are heavy :) But I love em anyway :)
j_spot
acutally..more than 8 would be nice...right now im playing on a pair of numarks. They are ANCIENT Belt drive things..Anyways..they have +/- 10...hmm..oh well. Technics it is anyways.
dazzed
i dunno but if a song was pressed at 100bpm
it may sound wierd as to up it to 130.

maybie we should convince one of those technic feature add on companies, like the ones that offer reverse on the technics.. to up the pitch to say 12%. but keep the same old great deck.
but i wounder if the quartz would work as well...
Ckerr812
I am reviving this thread from the dead...just to say that I think the Techies are better for mixing....the Vestax is better for scratching.....I tried em both out for a bit and that's my conlusion...lol Anyway,,,the technics are 50 bucks cheaper around my parts anyway :)
djdawn
you can get the Technics to run faster easily. My go up to 14-15% and I haven't had any trouble with it in 6 years...

If anyones interested I'll try to describe it.

Ckerr812
DJ dawn!!!!! I am very interested....I have been asking all around about this and everybody said it was inmpossible....the one guy who does alot of techie modification's at my store said..even if he could get it to go that high, he dosen't know if it would be stable...IE:fluttering and such..... DJ Dawn...do tell please I will forever be gratefull :)
djdawn
ok, here it is. understand that i can take NO responsibilty for any problems. But I can tell you that I know many friends who have done this and didn't have any probs.

*Turn the Techs off. CAREFULLY remove the platter, lifting it straight up, so you don't damage the magnets.

*Remove the 5 screws in the plastic cover under the platter and remove the cover.

*In the top right corner, there is a small light blue knob, it says "pitch" above it. CAREFULLY turn this switch clockwise till it stops. For me this is at a position between 3 and 4 o'clock.

*Re-assemble the techs.

DONE!

this can be done in about 5 minutes, I have even done this at a rave while playing !:D

The only problem you will encounter is that the pitch slide remains the same length while giving a greater range...so it will be pretty sensitive when you start. So there might be some getting used to it till your beatmatching is back on track.
