I know it isn't anything special, but hey, one has to start somewhere... especially when they've only recently gone away from stringing samples together. It's called "The Rising."

Comments as I listen:
The kick is almost completely inaudible and the bass doesn't really have any bass to it.
This really sounds like a japanese video game soundtrack tune, or possibly the intro for some Anime show =P
From what I can hear of the bassline I REALLY like the chord progression. You've definitely taken a very musical standpoint which I like quite a bit, however for trance it might almost even be too much. I guess I'm used to simplistic melodies with masterful production, as opposed to the opposite which is what you have here ;)
This is a pretty neat tune. Very obviously amateur but it sounds about a dozen times better than anything I made when I first got started. Personally I wouldn't bother trying to turn this into a "trance" tune, but just work on the production and keep the structure as is. |

Funny you should say that, because this (as well as "Manifest" and "Moonlight," which are crap compared to this IMO) are derived from classical pieces I wrote in the late 90s. :p
It would help if my speakers weren't complete crap, for one thing...plus if I had any money, I'd buy better equipment than the Cubasis VST 2.0 and near-gigabyte of free plug-ins I've assembled :haha: The good thing, though, is that I still have the song file, something I cannot say for my three somewhat pathetic attempts at Dream :toothless
btw, thanks for listening :) |
