Hi there guys!
Its been while since I posted any of my works here on these forums, Not many of you had listened to them, but I guess that its just because they were not good enough.
But recently i began improving my production skills, and so the works I started making sound a lot better...
Just wanted to share with you this clip
I have got different thoughts about it from several guys, so i really need to hear what more people will think of it...
How does the melody sound to you? Should it be longer?
What do you think of the bassline, and should i add more percussion to it other than just a basic kick?
Here is the clip:

Nice one,
At this point I feel I should say that I wouldn't be too concerned about what people think of it in terms of musical content. It's your track and so far the ideas sound good. It all depends on what sort of a track you are looking to write too.
There are probably some points that could be made from a technical stand with regards to your levels but that's stuff that I'm sure you are aware of already. It is also a little bass heavy i.e. it sounds a bit muddy but again I'm not sure what you are using to record it with etc.
Keep it going though :)
Just out of interest what are you using as a lead?
Cheers

Hey thanks for listening man, i was really infulenced by gabriel and dresdens works, but i decided to make something more jumpy, something with good rythem that might sound good in a club.
As for the lead, i used 3 difrent saw layers that i made using the FM7 vst.

I wouldn't sey its very jumpy IMO
the rythem sounds good but i think u need too lower the delay's FX on it , bring the hi freqency's up abit & may be make it longer...
the bass sounds fine 2 me... |

Comments as I listen:
-Pretty good pads, though they sound a little muffled almost at the beginning and could be a little more crisp sounding IMO.
- Cool melody, I like it. I think the lead could use a little more sharpness though, and probably an HP filter.
- Good kick, but no percussions; I guess this is just due to the length of the clip though.
- Bass is okay, could be a lot louder.
Overall I think this has potential but could use some cleaning up. The entire clip has a sort of muffled muddy sound to it. Look forward to hearing more of it. |
