well he had 2 different surnames, thats how he "got past" the police checks, had we had a natinal ID card, this would have been noticed, and to think that some of his past accusations had been removed from file due to the data protection act... |
I saw earlier on TV that he declared both surnames when the police check was requested. However, they failed to run a check on his "old" surname (Huntley).
Having said that, even if they had run a check on the name Huntley, only his burglary charge would have showed. But that would have been enough to ensure he didn't get the job, according to the head teacher.
A complete overhall of the system is in need. |

| life is only 35 years i think, double life sentence what he is serving would make that 70, and he can apply for parole at 50 years providing he is still alive. either way, by the time he gets out the threat of him is gone, and thats only just, and at double life. legal system aint strict enuff. he should just be in hung. |

There should be no death penalty, if you kill the convicted person its the easy way out, they dont have to think wot they have done for the rest of their lifes.
And then the question of wot if u convict and kill the wrong person (not that Huntley didnt do it, he is guilty as anything) |

what makes you think that people like this have a conscience like you or i?
adolf hitler certainly didn't, he never let people speak to him, and would lecture them for hours on end, he only comitted suicide because things didn't work out how HE wanted them to. |

it is wrong, but having him alive aint gonna do much to him is it apart from rape a few hundred Ks from government money is it...
if he got buggered to death in jail it would be a fitting end imo |

I wonder if him tryin to commit suicide is because he has got caught and doesnt want to spend the rest of his life in jail or because he realises the magnitude of wot he has done.
I just think he shud have to think about his crime for the rest of his life |

he won't think about it tho
he has a criminal record of similar offences and got away with them, ready planning the next. it's not as simple as we would like it to be, there is no place on this earth for people simply as ing wrong as he is. |

actually picture this, 20 years time....
you have your first kid, ian huntley is let out with secret identity and stuff, hasn't changed a bit. becomes binman and does the same school as your child, he puts them in a binman + kidnapps them, then sexually abuses, raped and kills them. was that good thinking or planning time in jail. or should the bastard have been executed when the chance was there.
i know what i would say |

| he has the right to, life doensn't mean life, it means 35 years, more like 20-25, double life being 40-50 if that, and how quickly people forget or move onto the next thing. it doensn't bare thinking about should he get out. the chance should just be removed altogether for stuff as severe as this. |
