i get these emails from the IM group about non-approved programs so i erased trillian off my computer. but i want to have my messengers. anybody know of any new messaging programs like trillian that my company might not recognize yet?

| I guess they don't want you to have fun at work...then again I could never see myself getting much work done on a computer with things like games and messenger on them. |

what is stupid is that i can sit here and play flash games all day but if i want to chat on IM while i actually do work i cant. |

Try Gaim, it's not unlike trillian, the major differences being the fact that it can connect to more networks, and is open source/free.
I use it over trillian anyhow, as i like it better.

gaim is a good pick. I had to get that at work for my occasional times instant messaging but I try and avoid that stuff ... they already wrote me up for computer usage violations when I was there 3 4 months when I hadn't even broken any rules :rolleyes: ( I was listening to music with mini earbuds underneath my telephone headset between calls during work hours ) ( and they wrote me up for violating personal internet usage and instalition of software which I did neither ) |

| Harsh. I'm still in school, and I have an incopetent network admin, so I basically do anything I want on my laptop all day. I'll have to stop next year though, as i need to actually do some work for once :/ |

| You sure they base it on an exluded list instead of an included list ? I mean, they might consider anything not explicitly approved to be unauthorized. |
