Thank you very much for your nice words Blue Neon and Abbas, that cheers me up and i need that especially today, very kind :)
And i wanted to say that when you're deeply in love with someone in a LD relationship, well, to make it public allows people to see that it's possible, because it's so annoying to hear all the time "it's not possible, it can't work, you should focus on someone closer than you"
I heard that so often, but i've been fully determined and i don't regret it now :)
Will you guys help a poor french man become an american starting next year ? hehe
And how about promoting trance a bit more in the US? My fiancee likes trance a lot too, that's very nice :p |
No problem man!!! You give me hope!!!!.....Even though you know it can happen if you really want it to.....when you don't see it happening to anybody else, its kinda discouraging....but seeing people succedd in long distance relationships is something else and gives great hope!!!
People don't know whats between you and your girl, so you just gotta not really listen when people tell u its not gonna work out!!! Obviously you have done that!!!!;)
I'd rather be Canadian than American let me tell u that! :p
Trance is growing there as it was and still is here....so I dont think you have to worry about not having trance!!!:D |

You know ABT, it's already a bit like that here in France except for guns. So many people here are at my age are already ed up on alcohol and drugs, and try to hurt as many people as possible so...oh and rap is so popular here...blah..
About ignorance, it's the same deal here, most french think France is the only country in the world and don't think that much and talk not knowing anything
Maybe it's not great to be american...but i hate so much being french and being in France, that almost anything else would be better
Right now i'm gathering stuff together, stories, about how France is one of the worst countries in Europe...anyway
Well, i'll just regret techno, but even from here, it's very expensive to go to the Netherlands, Germany or the UK to go to a very good party. North-Americans tend to think travelling within Europe must be cheap, but it's not, it's ing expensive as well
Anyway, thanks for wishing me good luck !
Abbas, i'm glad that my story gives you some hope ! It's very nice to hear, i wish something similar can happen to you !
About being Canadian or American..yeah, i'll see that, it's just that for now, i'll become American through my wedding so it's easier to be American first (sicne my fiancee is american)
But then...yeah, why not moving to Canada, Toronto sounds great, lots of Trance apparently now, growing more and more
I'll try to make some good european DJs to move along with me, hehe
Anyway, thanks, you're all nice ! |

Thanks for all the replies TA's, judging from all the stories here, I guess LDRs can go both ways, good and bad. It truly is tough to make a very strong committment to someone that far away though. Time passes, you miss having your girl/boy more and more. And the visiting thing does get expensive no doubt, spent a ton of cash on gas for my car, antifreeze, and on tolls when I drove up to see her.
Stereoprincess: I totally agree with you that it sucks not being able to talk to the person face to face, there are just some conversations that need to be done in person. For me, phone is just a tease and a way to have "small-talk" with her.
Oh well, I'll hope for the best but prepare for the worst. She's coming down next week (she better :P) so hopefully we have all the time we need to talk things through and spend time with each other... ARGH this sucks cuz I really want to see her, especially on weekends when I go out clubbing, sucks not having her there with me... Anyways thanks again TAs!

LoL SmackdowN, that's a harsh way to put it but I totally agree with you. Me being from Europe, I really notice the majority of Americans are very close-minded, and it's very tough to meet the few exceptions. It would help alot of Americans to travel to other countries, get cultured a bit and realize that Planet Earth is not the United States...

| Damn...french already believe they're the center of the world...if it's the same in the US, it's not gonna be funny at all |

Its funny that you guys mention that.... I'm an american (unfortunately), but i've lived and travelled the world....
whats funny is that whenever i go somewhere, i tell people i'm canadian (b/c most of the countries i've been to don't completely like americans for the most part), LOL..... its just a funny travel thing i do.
but i have travelled (and lived) around the world.. and i guess that is why i pretty much like everywhere BUT the USA... but thats me :D
take care,

You're right about people not liking the USA...in France, the majority really hate the US and americans, many people in my class last year were ready to kill them and they laugh whenever americans are hurt or other things
Once again, France is one of the only places where americans are so much hated
Anyway, i guess it's a common pattern that whenever you live somewhere since you were born, you don't like the country you're in...It's either that or you become a crazy nationalist who'd kill all of the people on earth for your country...
Well...no..i hope there are many people in between, that would be awful if there weren't |

Pretty sad to see you dissing your own country that you live in. If you don't like it here so much why don't you leave? You have to take the good with the bad that comes with every country.
Best/Worst part of America is the freedom to do what you want and the opportunity to do it. As far as music is concerned, 99% of the world's great music comes from America or it's mother the UK. If being an American makes you Ignorant, so be it. BTW, i can't think of any good music that comes from france.
Long live America!

Actually thats quite funny that you say you are canadian. Like you I have traveled the world and I have met americans that also say they are canadians because of the hassles people give them. Whenever we would go anywhere people would automatically assume we were american and act like asses but then when we would say we are canadian they would be the most friendly people! Kind of funny too that americans put canadian flags on their backpacks when they travel hehe.
I have no problem with Americans, dont get me wrong, I do see the US as the land of opportunity therefore that is why I have chosen to move down there at the end of August. Can't wait! |
