In order for such a thing to transgress several things would have to occur which combined have about a chance of lightning striking someone twice.

(a.) total corruption of our government on many levels (all serving only one person.. president bush, yeah ing right, everyone has their own agenda within our government, some people just follow under somebody else to gain other thing)
(b.) saddam's total cooperation (yeah right)

(c.) a level of trust between saddam hussein and whoever lined up the deal

(d.) the media somehow not getting word of this.

While some nuts out there would like to suggest this is easily possible, I would like to suggest they are pathetic, and possess the mind of an infant and have about the same resistance to suggestion. I mean, I hate bush just as much as the next level headed citizen of the world, but give me a break. It's too grand for him to conjure, and the risks are far too great for the rewards. On no level's is it logical, and I sincerely doubt it's even possible.

Look at watergate, it only takes a few people to bust open a "conspiracy", and that was chump compared to what this guy is suggesting.

well as an american i can say (in response to your reasons) that:

a) our entire government is corrupt and will do anything for money. any other country will not deny this.
b and c) the US government was responsible for placing saddam into power in the first place, what says we couldnt take him out of power with his cooperation?
d) 95% of everything the US press releases comes from the goverment or is filtered through our government, so they really have no opinion other than what our government tells them. (I.E. the US press didnt know about bush visiting Iraq when it was planned for weeks)

I'm not saying it was all a setup, but your reasonings are not valid at all.

a) corruption is a check within itself for corruption
the quest for money undoubtedly includes uncovering corrupts political figures (think of all the money on books, bla bla, immunity from prosecution, all that jazz). Y
b) The US government was indirectly responsible for placing him in power...
c) Saddam Hussein has never proven himself trustworthy, he doublecrossed the US long ago, which is really why we became his enemy, not only in Kuwait, but also a pipeline deal a bit before that.
d) Did you pull that number out of your ass? Oh yeah, you did. Wait, let me get my tinfoil hat. Nobody may speak out against our current government through the media, because the media is completely censored throughout the world by.. THE US!!!!!

oh and surely all the "high up" people that work in the government and the media and the military are corrupt worthless pieces of right? GIVE ME A ING BREAK, wake up and smell the cocaine man.. it's a crack head theory that was likely thought up over a pot of boiling water and baking soda.

If you're not saying it's setup, what are you saying? that the opportunity was there and everyone just said "nah, we'll bag the bastard later???"

Not to mention we killed his two sons long ago, but let me guess, that was a setup too...

Not to mention when was the last time you saw a daily newspaper used as a "verification" tool and it's not uncommon for someone to have irregular graying patterns. God, what is wrong with everyone?

a well-respected??? crackpot conspiracy theorist?

anyone who thinks this is even concievable should take the time to put me on their ignore list, and I would like to do so as well? You are far too stupid and wasting my valuable screen space, thank you... Ignoring me is for your own protection, your brain might melt when you realize the whole world isn't out to do bad and trick everyone. Vice Versa is also true and just to be safe you might want to ignore me if you believe that.

Dude you dont have to bash his opinions!!I think his whole point to post this was for people to think and consider that idea that the whole captuting of Saddam might have been fake.
I mean Iam not saying I agree with that article, but I wouldnt be too surprised either if it was true.Since Bush really needed something liek this in order to gain public support for his nexr election.

bottom line is we'll never know the whole truth.

I find it funny that when bush lies about the weapons of mass destruction bull, conspiracy theories were laughed at, but when something like this is even thought of as fake, people seem to pounce on it as crap.

Bush lied, people still trust, Saddam is caught, people will still listen to bushes lies.

truth!

well, in a matter of speaking, the less details, the more likely it is to actually be true, because when you want to make a fake story, you allways throw in lots of details, since that, in the eyes of the majority makes it seem more likely.

alltho i can very much agree on the whole part about sounding like an act with all the stuff going on, seeing as, it was obviously fabricated, because if you look on that clip that was released to the press, you notice there's a cut between the guy asking and the soldire answering, now after the cut (if this would have been filmed live) you would see the camera guy that filmed the guy asking in picture to the left of the guy answering, but of course he isnt there, he has switched place, wich in turn COULD (note caps) mean that it was a fabricated tape, alltho of course, this IS the best opportunity for them to propagate for themselves... so of course they take the opportunity to make it as "good" (slight sarcasm, yeah) as possible...

I'm all for conspiracy theory, but this one is a little odd, i could never see Saddam Hussein cooperating with the US even if they put him in power (the US has put many rightwing groups into power who have not later cooperated)

I think the whole issue of Iraq stinks with corruption though, this was never about Saddam Hussien, it was always about the vast quantity of money that will be squeezed from Iraq when it becomes a fully capitalist nation

yeah

SuperFarStucker
Look, I hate Bush as "much" if not more than the next guy but that just doesn't change how ridiculous this is. There isn't even a significant advantage in waiting 8 months to capture him instead of just one. In fact, I'd suggest that it would be disadvantageous for them to wait longer as there would be a better chance of the truth getting out. Also, if this guy "knew" why did he wait until the media announced Saddam was captured to start spouting his ? While it would be completely possible to say the exact same thing (minus the comments on the videos of his capture etc) before capture, it's always afterwards that crackheads suggest "oh it's a CONSPIRACY GUYS!" I'm not defending Bush, hell, I'm not defending America, I'm just putting stupidity in it's proper place. The most corrupt government in the world (China) would likely be able to pull this off without a hitch...

do you watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central?

a couple days ago he took the piss outta MSNBC and just 24-hour news channels.

"saddam was captured... how much time does it take to report that? it's happened and now it's... no longer... happening! but there's still 24 hours left to fill. so what do we do? fill up the broadcast with computer-generated images of Saddam's hide-out... but not only that... if you work at MSNBC... yes... they built a REPLICA of Saddam's hide-out! i wonder if he really lived in an IKEA hole"

and they showed a bunch of absolutely RIDICULOUS clips from MSNBC and other news networks...

i guess what i'm trying to say, we shouldn't trust the media.
