People under 21 need to stop bitching.
When you have been around a little longer you will have some perspective and realize that there are more similarities then differences between generations.

What doesn't kill you can still leave you paralyzed. |

| In backwards places, buttsechs was illegal back then, and if you weren't white you couldn't swim in the same swimming pools or drink from the same waterfountains, go to the best schools, or have an opportunity for a good job. In that regard we are all better off than the old farts. |

Generally:
Pain is weakness leaving the body. Of course you can always injure yourself by taking things a bit too far or doing something that exceeds physical limits, which actually makes you weaker, but there is a very large margin of "pain" which in the long run (musculoskeletally speaking) actually makes you stronger, faster, and better within this (admittedly pedantic) scope.
But:
Paralyzation might be taking it a bit too far:D :D :D :D :D :D
Point: Not everything that hurts is bad for you. I think this extends very far beyond the boundaries of physical pain... |

Not sure what's the point of that "good old days" list.
Every older generation always criticizes the next generation as soft and spoiled (at least in America where significant progress is gained each decade). People who reminisce of the old days have a selective memory, pointing out the strengths while neglecting to mention the weaknesses of their generations. Its kind of silly to try to make an argument that one generation is better than another. We live in different times, have new conviences and new problems, but as a human race we have evolved very little over 2000 years. That's why we are still plagued by same human weakness layed out in the bible (war, murder, vanity, jealousy,...) no matter what generation we are from. |

Loved that original thread. Igottaknow is right too. Ever since man crawled out of a cave, each succeeding generation "had it made" compared to the last.

we will never evolve past all of those things though, maybe none of them. however, the technological advances in the past 2000 years are amazing, particularly the last 100 years!
alot of the older generations seem to rezent (sp?) the fact we have more technilogical aids in this day and age, as we will in 'X' amount of years, when humans no longer need to sleep anymore or something mental and it will make us envious.. "in my day we needed to lie down for 8 hours a day to recouperate" lol i can see it now. |

| In my day we had to walk to school and back uphill both ways in the snow with kleenex boxes for shoes. That was on a good day. |
