| im on east coast, here from UK, and havnt been out and about drunk and clubbing for 6 months, im on the brink of a nervous breakdown. No joke. I stil dont understand why ur law is 21, its just insane, and only being, according to ur country a baby at 19, where do i go to club? What the hell do people under 21 do for their lives? I dont look 21 and someone told me to try fake id, but does it work and where in gods name do you get them lol. Is there anything else fun to do in miami anyone? :nervous: |

I believe Jeskot7 mentioned club X-it in Hollywood, where they play harder stuff that's do-able, and it's 18 and up to get in.
And I agree, 21+ is WHACK. |

fakes dont work well at clubs, only to buy alcohol at a store if you're so inclined

| At the club I work at there's no chance for you to get in with a fake ID. And from what I have heard, you can't get into space with a faker either. At my club though, it's only on certain nights and big events that its 18+ girls 21+ guys. Fridays and Saturdays it's 18+ regardless. |

Actually they DO work, depending on the kind of ID. I know someone who got their hands on a genuine U.S. Armed Forces ID (I will not say which branch) and this person I knew happened to look like the person in the ID, so they got into Space, no problem. |

I've been saying the same for years. We're all over the place here in the United States. The age to drive is 16. You can see a rated R movie at 17. 18 you are eligible and if worse comes to worse forced into the military. You can vote when your 18, considered an ADULT! you must pay taxes just as any other deserving citizen; yet your parents are supposed to provide for you up to 23 if your a student, says the health insurance companies. And then somehwere in the middle of it some ed up legislature decided 21 would be the magic age where life suddenly got exciting. I agree, all these different age brackets feed comtempt and disregard for the law by minors. Well as DarkAngel quoted me there's a new club in Downtown Hollywood called X-It. I've been there about three times and used my phony ID once. I haven't had a problem yet! The place has great parking, no lines. Downstairs is hip-hop, Upstairs is trance. Not , I mean this DJ is a professional. If you go to party931 and search for it you can find the number. If your in for a good time I would call them up and get some details. Maybe we can meet up there sometime! |

The US thinks it's being innovative by instituting prohibition once again, but there's nothing innovative about this policy at all. It's been tried in the mid-1800s at the state level, and at a national level in the 1920s.

Honestly, it's the one thing I really hate about America.
But look at it from this angle, in the USA about 1/3 of the entire population completely abstains from alcohol use. In the UK and elsewhere in Europe, nearly 100% of the population drinks to some extent. That societal trend is going to be reflected in the alcohol policy of a given nation. Actually, in the early history of the US, alcohol (especially whiskey) was very important to the early colonists. There was no drinking age then until the early temperance movements began to take hold. |

Ive been in Us for 6 months now, and you have to experience it to understand this country. All UK think US and UK are alike, coz of the materilistc nature and language, but the difference in cultures is more diverse than between India and Iceland. Anyway im straying from my point here as i could spend all night listing little things which are different and i find strange about the US. But...as for the drinking age, in UK its 18, and in much of europe is 16 or less. From some of the teens ive seen and met so far in US i feel slightly alienated, only from some thou, as they are very immature. I know some of u guys are really nice, but i think as there is nothing much to do, many younger people in US havnt grown up, as fast as in europe. This is visable by behanviour and education standards, as the adedemic year in US is behind by two years from Uk and more in the rest of europe. In UK i began to drink and club at 16/17, as bouncers arnt that wiked to fdake id and how old you look. Kids in netherlands drink much earlier and so do they in France, and i often feel they are more mature than kids in UK. And i do think that the high legal age of drinking DOES increase the use of illegal drugs, to tell you why in my oppinion would cost Ta another 3 pages. Sorry this is very well organised, coz i need to write this is essayform to make the points i want to lol.But thats my veiw, and i think that when i got my VISA which i paid a load of money to you guys for [grumble] i should have been given a special drink ID card lol :P Im not slateing your country i love it very much...i love the...umm...hot ladies and nice wether in florida...roight.
By the way, id love to go lcubbing with anyone,jess to an 18+. i dont know where in correltation i am to Hollywood, but the problem is that im sailing down the intercoastal waterway, u might know it, and so i have no transport what soever, so im stauck at where i am, which right now is West Palm beach and soon will be Maimi for a week or so.
None answered why girls are allowed in at 18? This is obviously something u feel greatly about Dave, isnt there something you would like to add about that, maybe the fact that its sexist? lol |

| its all about the money,... the more girls you get into a club/bar the more guys will come,... if there was a guys get in free or guys drink free till midnight type deal and the ladies had to pay then it would be full of guys just there to have a good time getting drunk,.. but with the ladies get in free and drink free till midnight the guys come out in droves to see the drunk women and be with them,.. its all a marketing ploy,... and yes, the 21 to drink law sucks when you are under 21 but we all have to do our time,... miami is not the place to be under 21 and want to go out,... many other cities in florida accodimate 18+ for guys,.. you might be able to find a handfull in the WPB area,... but as for Miami,... drinking at home is the best you'll get,... |

I have succesfully entered club space with a fake ID before, along with several other clubs (opium, bed, level, etc). Hand the ID to the bouncer with a $20 bill folded underneath it, very discreetly, and he'll let you in.
As to your question about "what do people do for their lives when they are under 21," the only answer I can tell you is "drugs and under 18 events." :) |
