...so what do the drugs have to do with it? You people ever learned how to appreciate music for what it is? Or do you really need a drug to soften the edges and essentially become a crutch for music listening?

Versus your viewpoint on music and drugs? If your denying the obvious connection between electronica and narcotics, then you really don't see the picture.
Of course, I choose NOT to associate trance with drugs, even though it's a given staple among many people, but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy trance with or without substances...it's just a way to make things a little more fun and enjoyable.
Maybe you should try it before you go preaching your political and social views on certain activities certain people like to enjoy.

Try listenin to plastikman - closer on headphones in the dark, ive listened to it straight and it was completly f*ckin with my head, i cant even imagine what it'd be like under the influence

i love to do that as well..any trance song is better while high i love to listen to a whole cd though that way every song flows into another song it sounds so much better than just a burned mix of diffrent songs..

I usually dont listen to songs that I do like while i'm under the influence, but rather listen to music or CDs that I didnt like when I just bought them or just didnt understand. That way I can maybe appreciate what i was missing before or hear certain aspects of a track that I misunderstood. Just my take on it.:gsmile:

The best part of listening to any music high is that you can distinguish between the different instruments/sounds...it's like you're hearing them seperate but all together at the same time (this sounds confusing to someone who's never gotten high before but if you have then you know what I mean).

Sure, drugs aren't needed to listen to music, but they do make it better.

Man seriously. Get nice and baked, and listen to John'00'Flemings essential mix from 2000. It will you up. This is the first live set i ever listend to while ripped and it BLEW MY MIND. All the tracks are so hypnotic, layers upon layers of crazy drum patterns and melodies, the kind of tracks where you hear new patterns constintly as you focus on diffrent aspects of the track. The set is totaly the line between trance and prog....awsome groove with cool melodies

My roomates are going away back home for christmas so i got the house to myself, Ganna buy a couple fatties and listen to loads of new tunes while baked......its like the only thing i like to do while stoned, that and watch DVD's :D

Who said anything about being dependant on drugs to listen to enjoy music? The idea is to simply enhance the experience ;) What's funny is that being high is what got me into prog/tribal house in the first place, and now i enjoy without anything :)

oh and the 3 of Wavy Gravy, pot, and amphetamines pretty much result in a life changing experience :happy2:

Without a doubt , Oceanlab Satelitte is a perfect example of this for me. Sober its just not that interesting to me, high and I think its the most beautiful heart renching song imaginable :)

I find in general though that all the subtlties in a song are suddenly really vibrant, not too mention that everything is a whole lot more immersive... Its like your just living in the NOW... there's no future to worry about, no past to regret, there's just NOW, and its a cool place to be

Hey folks,

Overall the feedback to my original post has been very supportive, so much so that I'm wondering if we should take it to the next level with an actual "trip" competition or something like that. It would work something like this...

Everyone submitts a set of length 45-55 minutes in length and we all give these trips a review of how things went when we experienced.

I've already gotten some trip suggestions (one in e-mail as well because the guy had reasons for sharing annonymously ;)) and i'm planning on testing them out.

I was thinking we could call ourselves "narconauts" (like astronauts except we explore regions of being under the influence)

Likewise it would be nice to hear back from someone else who would take the trip I suggested in my original post and give us some feedback on how that went.

Is there any interest in doing this? If not I'll continue to have a good time on my own, but sometimes you can experience new things with new "directors"

regards
