Lake Tahoe/Reno - New Years Eve?

I'll be up there for NYE, anyone know what I should expect? Is it like Vegas, where everyone is out on the streets partying it up? Or is it more inside the hotels and such? ANY help would be appreciated!
ps Anyone staying in LA that doesn't go see THE MAN HIMSELF, JOHN DIGWEED on New Years Eve is a fool. 12 hours of pure musical bliss, I almost wish I stayed in town!:D |

| I dunno if lake tahoe happens on NYE.... but I do know that on Spring Break that's the place to be!!! |

should be a pretty good party...in more the all age realm of things... the main club (whose new name i don't recall) downtown is re-opening that night thing the rooms are ...pop dance / techno-trance / retro...
as far as the lake goes i am not sure but will post back if i find some more info prior...i am in reno and will most likely be at the above part for at least a brief that night unless i go camping...

The flyer on that website is kinda hard to read though... any idea on the club's hours? We'll probably just hang out in the casinos or on the main street at midnight, but this event might be cool to check out for Afterhours if it's open late.
what do the local ppl do on NYE in Reno/Tahoe? Is there a festival or other outdoor craziness of any kind.. similar to Vegas? |

it is similar to vegas only smaller the main street here (virginia) where the majority of the casinos are etc...gets pretty crazy people in the streets etc etc...as far as the locals i am not sure what they do as i usually go camping or stay home on nye...not a very social person ;-)
that party will probably go until there is no one left and it is not exactly in a club... they rent this two room space that is attached to an old casino...pretty good space etc...definitly more of a "party" than a "Club"... i would expect this event to go late with no problems...its about 1/2 mile from the main dowtown area downtown... tho it shouldn't be difficult to have agood time here that night... |
