stick with technics. usually the bundles are . get a cheap mixer so you can put up more money for some nice tables. tables are more important than a mixer.. financially, for a beginner dj.

the money there is no disadvantage, get 2 second hand Techs, doesn't matter what model, and then spend the rest on a mixer, just don't get crap decks, those 2 packs you showed, you would be better off buying a toaster to play records with, just get the Techs first, I got 2 second hand ones for 800 Canadian and I got a Ortofon Concorde with them aswell and that cart is 150 Canadian, and there in MINT condition, so just make sure to but the Techs and then think about the mixer, come back to us with how much money you got spare after getting the decks, and we will give you ideas on what is best for the money.

Well there are semi-decent $100-200 dollar mixers, most notably the Behringer DJX series. The differences between cheap and expensive mixers would be sound quality and the quality of the mixer itself. I dont know much in depth, but those would probably be the major differences.

If you want a good mixer that is cheap - you could check out the Behringer DJX700 (USD $200) - some people would suggest a Vestex, which costs alittle more.

dont get a 100 dolla mixer or at least tell us what mixer it is. personally i would go for a vestax or pioneer mixer. Although pioneer is overpriced they are good. Ive heard rane and xone and allen and heath are good mixers too but i havent used em.

If you are getting a mixer here is what to look for as a bare min:

-at least 2 channels with 4 inputs (2 phono, 2 for the cd players)
-a crossfader (duh :D)
-treb, mid, low eq knobs for both or more channels. this is very important! you neeeed this
-master out, gain, headphone audio output (split cue if you want)

hey... i jus started spinning recently as well, and i picked up a pretty nice mixer for $200. its a numark dxm-06. it has a couple effects, but also include treb, mid, bass, and kill buttons. allows u two change the slope between mix and scratching. also has some other stuff. i've been using it so far and haven't had a problem with it and haven't heard anything bad. u should check it out.

I'd check ebay for prices on some of the better mixers. You can get a good Stanton, Numark, or Vestax for a Behringer price if you use ebay. Just make sure that the seller is reputable and that the mixer hasn't been used much, as mixers do wear out over time.

hehe... ya. from what i heard. behringers suck and break very easily. (only hearsay tho, never actually used one):D

Why are you even mentioning A&H, Rane or Pionner, he cant afford them... I bought an A&H Xone:62 last week, cost me $800 - yes thats right $800 - I paid $1000 + $200 rebate. :tongue2

Here is a list of good inexpensive mixers:

Tascam X15 (USD $300)

Behringer VMX300 (USD $170) / Behringer DJX700 (USD $200)
|

Numark Matrix 3 (USD $300)

Vestax PCV-175 (USD $300)

Try ebay for a gently used Pioneer DJM300. Lots of these units see very little to no use as backup mixers.

i agree with pretty much every thats already been said. get some used techs, and a behringer vmx 200/ 300 mixer and some cheap carts if the decks dont come with them. you'll be set for along time.
