Records missing beats at the begining

I've been meaning to ask this question for some time now so here it is.

I have two records that are missing a few beats at the begining of the record. My release of Ralphie B - Massive it missing a beat and i'm missing two beats on my copy of Jacob and Mendez - Deception. I was wondering if anyone else has record like this?

I find it a real piss off when i'm about to release one of these two tracks as I have to wait and extra beat or two to let it go. Really s with my mind

Sometimes you get records that do this.
On some occassions the producer made it this way on purpose because of artistic reasons. In some cases it's down to the record being a bootleg and hasn't been cut properly etc. (I have a few that I bought from HTFR that do this... Makes you wonder what they are up to NOT!).

The easiest thing to do when mixing these guys is to start at a new phrase rather than the two 'rogue' beats at the beggining. Simple really. :) Saves you messing around and doing all that weird counting.

Cheers

yeah some of my whites do this- lots of mash ups and bootleg pressings, and a lot of tracks do it anyway where they will start on a beat thats not the first in the bar... (r&b tunes do this a lot)

All part of the fun
