Well, for me only house music worked. I am trance music fan, but the i can't listen trance as "background music". This style is about melody, and i need to listen (concentrate) on the music, so i can't workout :D

Personally, I listen to the radio, because it gets me really pissed off to listen to all the mainstream hip hip/pop crap they play on the radio in california. It is such junk in my opinion, that I lift more weight and get through my workout much quicker just so I can take the damned headphones off.

I think Bad Boy Bill albums are great to work out to :D

anything that makes your head bob. doesn't matter what genre.
Vigilante
I think melodic trance and songs with vocals are best for working out.

You can't have anything too hard!

I have friends who listen to some drum & bass when they work out :conf: perhaps you should try that...

but for trance it's better to take some energetic tunes:
andain - beautiful things (photon project mix)
cern - the message (southern mix)
...

you can also try some tunes of yahel:
yahel & eyal barkan - I believe
yahel & dj miss T - skywalker
yahel & dj miss T - going up
...

its just a cd that they play.quality stuff.no pop, rap,r&b etc.just really good music.also play alot of chilled/progressive stuff.

pity my gym is full of posers s.no one there really knows how to lift

When I lift I usually listen to metal because it incites anger/rage....Slipknot, Soulfly, SOAD, RATM, Godsmack, Korn etc. When I run, I usually perfer something with a heavy bassline because it sets a tempo into the workout...and making it go by faster! :toothless

OMFG MOTORCYCLE AS TEH RUHS CUMS OMG CHOON

No!

Why would you bring prog or slow-ass trance to the gym? Especially a track like this, theres no way youre gonna get inspired enough to finish your set. People are recommending the Sweeping Strings mix for both falling asleep and working out...which is it gonna be, huh?

Get some bigbeat or chemical breaks in there if you've got a hardon for electronica while youre working out, otherwise just find some metal
