"This is the Apocalypse. There is nothing but devastation and debris," Mohammed Karimi, in his 30s, said Friday when he brought the bodies of his wife and 4-year-old daughter to the cemetery.
20,000 - 40,000 dead in a single moment. |

"I'm just poppin' down the shop for a pound-a sprouts" Joanna Hartman, my mum in her 40's said Christmas Eve after she finished work.
40-60 in a bag in a single purchase.

| I assume he's referring to the monster earthquake in Iran that happened recently. Within the last week, I believe. |

yea I am.
It's a pretty powerful quote. Just to think that someone is witnessing what they consider to be the Apocalypse is pretty awesome. |

| it wasnt a monster earth quake. it was like 6.8. probably most of teh blame could be put on the building codes they have their or those that they have that they do not choose to inforce |

I heard it was only a 6.3
Thats still incredibly high (the death toll)... California got a 6.5 on monday and only 2 people died. Of course it could have been a lot worse if it epicentered in a more densly populated area, but still no where near 20k... |

yea I made a very similar point and got yelled at by Iranian TAs. apparently certain people value military and terror expenses more than human life. but this is off subject for this thread.

that's the thing, it wasn't a very populated area. the hardest hit city only had 80,000 people in it. |
