How do you get this massive arp sound?

I really suck at writing arps, so I'm trying to deconstruct some arps I like from tracks I've bought.
Here's the arp from Amara - Pulse:

I've had a careful listen, and reckon the note pattern is pretty similar to the following:
I'm totally stuck on the sound to use though. Help me out please! I dunno what effects might be used either, so any suggestions are welcomed :)

That's a pretty standard supersaw sound. Check my thread and play with the amplifier to turn it into a lead. Basically, 0 attack, 0 sustain, shorter decay, shorter release.
This is assuming you have the pro 53 synth. |

| layering and a good EQ setting would do the trick also..i know you won't get that in reason with 1 substractor..i don't think it's possible. |

Seems layering must be the way to go, a supersaw on its own doesn't really sound anything like the original. That doesn't really help me though, as what instruments to layer together and what effects to use is still a bit of a mystery to me.

thats from the orignal artist i think, he seeks a good sound him self in reason for it.
anyway this is what i made of it with 2 substractors.

no distiortion in it..and i did it in 5 mins, was just giving a minor example..
tbh i don't think you can get that powerfull sound out of substractor only..but i am not that skilled enough to say that maybe. |

My first approach lacks some high-end.
I think this one is better.
It doesn't sound exactly the same, but I'm not going to sit down for hours just trying to make an exact copy of that sound ;) |

Not really, I made it with my Indigo II :)
I don't know the subtractor (well, I know it's a synth in Reason, but I never used it), but I think you can make a similar sound with every synth offering 3 saw oscs and an unison function.
Take 3 detuned saws, set the LP filters full open, set both attack and release to something like 30-40 (on a scale of 0-127), add a little bit of noise and a slightly reverb (since most softsynths don't offer internal effects, you should do this afterwards). Now put the unison function on and set it to 3, 4 or 5 (so you get in fact 9, 12 or 15 detuned saw waves) and set the unison's detune to 127. Now it should sound like the sound you want. To make it more wider/"fatter", record it to an audio track, copy this audio track and put a stereo-delay on the copy, play the copy along with the original and you have a very rich sound :) |
