Does anyone else actually enjoy listening to midi's :D

they just soo cheesy i find them entertaining

because if you do play it in winamp, they use those sounds that are on your soundcard. very basic sounds.

why were midis made anyway? once i listened to a midi a long long time ago, i just thought it was a bad file

You obviously have absolutley no clue what they're for then. MIDI can't be compared to ogg/mp3, it's a totally different format.

They're useful for ringtones on certain types of phones, and invaluable for producing, as they contain the actual notes to tracks which can be easily exported into a sequencer. For instance, if I wanted to remix PVD - For An Angel, and I had a midi file of it (which I do), I can just insert the notes into FL (The sequencer I use), and away I go.

Midis are not for listening to. They dont contain any audio, only notes and what u hear is ur sound cards crappy synth playing those notes.
U can load them into a sequencer and instead of the sound card synth sound, it will use the sound from a sample or proper synth to play the notes.
