it isn't a matter of opinion mate, the M3D is a newer model than the MK2. I don't know for certain but it is my belief that they both use the same 'inner workings' (ie. motor and other mechanics). The M3D has a pitch reset button next to the pitch control which will return the pitch to 100% of the set platter rpm, the MK2 doesn't have this. That's the extent of my knowledge!

m3d has the reset button, power switch gaurd, no annoying notch at 0 pitch. I *think* it might have a slightly better tone arm, and it might have a switch for usa/european power, but not sure on those last two. The m3d can be had for the same price as an mk2, so just go for the m3d.

I prefer the click myself, its just a satisfying feeling, and then you know where you are in the scale without looking :D. People say the click gets in the way, but all you have to do is go higher or lower on the scale.

The click doesn't bother me, I never really have trouble with it, I kinda prefer the MK2s just for the fact they don't have the reset button, so they are even more plain looking, and I like that, apart from the black MK2s the only other Tech I would really like is the M5Gs, and I ain't to sure about that.
I ain't saying this because I have 2 black mk2s, I got them because there the ones I think look the best out the bunch, but there all as good as one another.

the usa/ euro power switch comes on the 1210s. i think the tone arms on the mk2 and m3d are the same. the m3d has a little spot to store an extra cart. i've got black mk2s and i love them.

Some of the time the click can be damn near annoying especially when the bpm is a tiny tiny bit off from where the point it clicks. But I suppose you could pitch up or down the outgoing song so that you can avoid the problem.

Just get the MK2's and replace the pitch fader with one from an m3d... that way no click, and no button... You get the nice plain look, you don't have to with the deck that is playing (not that you would be changing alot, but still) and there would be no click... and I don't think they cost all that much either to change.

Or, just get the m3d, as you can find the two models for the same price most places... Guess it's all up to personal preferance though. I personally like the reset button, and dislike the (annoying) zero notch. If you want a "plain" look, I guess you get the mk2. I don't quite see how a button and a lil black hole makes it that much less plain, but the fact remains that it's really up to personal preferance, as they are both fine decks.
