The W Brothers had two film's worth of material and stretched it out over three. Hell, when a Paul Oakenfold rave intermingled with a sex scene with Carrie-Anne Moss starts getting tedious, you know they've 'jumped the shark'.
Tolkein had enough ideas in 'The Silmarillion' to make a whole genre of films. Not as good as the LOTR trilogy, perhaps. But more than the Matrix universe gave us. |

| LOTR, hands down. The first matrix was good, but after that, they just got crap. LOTR got better and better as the sequels came out. |
