Fek, it has been an uphill battle but mixing psy is worth it when it all clicks. Unlike breaks, progressive or other electronica, it is not very dj friendy.
I have a mix I just completed, it is deeper and darker than most psy, very progressive (a lot of scandanavian stuff).
I know most of you hate having to click through a site to get to the tunes, but I have not got the direct link url at the moment. The mix I am talking about is CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT, it is one of 8 mixes I have (all mp3's), and i mix quite a range of genres(breaks, psytrance, progressive, and ambient dnb).
Feel free to comment, and I have a pretty good ear so I would return the favour fer sure.

Yeah I hear ya TranceGiant, I need to mix things up otherwise I get bored. It makes it pretty expensive though buying all that music since I play four quite distinct genres.

This is definitely in the darker style of any PSY that I've listened to. You've even used some tunes that I've used in some of my GOA mixes...Is that 'Beat Bizarre - Deep Disco Profile' I hear on there?
Anyway, sounds pretty good so far IMO, but I'm off to work now so can't give much more comment.

Edit: I've just had a chance to listen to the full stream and this is quite a nice mix you've put together. Most of the tracks I haven't heard, but there's a couple that are real stormers! I especially like the track after Beat Bizarre - Deep Disco Profile and a very nice transition into it I might add.
There's only about 3 or 4 tracks that I'd consider my typical PSY listening style, but overall I thought you did a great job with most mixes. Very nice set!

Hey thanks for the feedback TwoHardCore. Do we know each other? The psytrnace scene here in Calgary is msall enough that I bet we have met before.
I have another mix called Dream Seek, I will get it up on my site soon. It is harder and darker.
Are you coming out for Infected Mushroom on jan 18th? I am pretty excited to be opening for them, I will be tagging with Tropism for the first time so it is going to be quite and adventure.

heh, a direct link would be nice. I listened to the first 10 min in the AM before work, but because it was streamed, I had to re-download after work to finish it off.
And Nokturnal, about the IM show, I didn't even know they were coming, you were opening. Where can I get some info? And no you don't know me, I haven't been out to a club/event in years!!! Last one I was at was around NYE in 97 at the Mewata armoury, a show Lucie (Double D) and crew put on.

Hey TwoHardCore, they are here at the Tequila on Jan 18th, tickets are at ticketmaster ($20 i think), it should be an incredible night. You shouljd think about checking it out! |

OK, all my mixes as well as a number of other artists mixes can now be dl'd at our new website: area709.com
All mixes dl into a quicktime player which you can then save the dl as a quicktie movie once it has been completely dl'd.
