I am planing on moving to Delray FL. this spring and I would like to know how good the partys are in FL. . I am just used to Toronto night life and all th good DJs that hit up the city when they come from Europe, also some the best residents DJs are there to. And the clubs are the best I have been to yet. What does FL. have to offer?
ie PVD, DJ Dan , Judge Jules and the list goes on.
thank you

p.s what are some good web sites to check out to see what good partys are going up?

Well Delray is a bit north to go to South Beach every weekend (probably about 45 min to an hour drive), but there is definitely a scene in Miami. You have to be 21 to get in anywhere though and it’s pretty expensive. By the time you’ve gone into a club, you’ve already spent $20-$40 on parking and another $20 to get in (or more if you didn’t want to wait in line). Then once you get in, you’re paying (on average) about $7-$10 for a vodka and redbull! To get a table, it’s usually a 2 bottle minimum at $200 a bottle. We have a “trance” music station called party 93.1…it’s mostly mainstream cheese, but on Sunday nights, there’s a show called Perfecto Presents…there’s some nice tracks on there. They also broadcast live from a lot of places where a big DJ is spinning, so that’s cool. West Palm Beach is nice too I’ve heard…that’s closer to Delray. It’s pricey and I’m not familiar with the scene there, but I’m sure there are a few decent clubs. Ft. Lauderdale (where I live) is just becoming ghetto although there is this one bar called Karma that has a resident DJ from UK named Paul Head on Friday nights. He plays great house music. Most of the Florida TA’s get together a lot for big events so when you move here, start posting and I’m sure you’ll meet up with all of us.

PS_ other things South Florida has to offer are beautiful weather and beaches, great restaurants and entertainment, and beautiful (shallow) people.

mooreveedub....whats up! I moved from Buffalo to Miami 2 months ago, and there is a ton of great stuff here in south florida. I was also very used to the Toronto scene, love the Guvernment and the crazy shows they put on (like Labor of Love tour with Sasha, Ferry Corsten, DJ Dan, and numerous others back in Sept)! Miami has some great ones as well (PVD and Deep Dish played Space just before I got here, and separae nights even. I havent had the time to check a lot of it out yet, but I have been to Space, and am going there this Sat to see Ferry Corsten. And Marcus Schultz, one of their residents, is awsome! A lot of great DJs come down here, and so far the postings on this site have been the best way to find out the who/when/where! And dont forget about the World Music Conference here in March, definitely need to get to that. But that being said, there is a ton of other great stuff here too, especially coming from Buffalo....beaches, sun, green year round! The list goes on....! Good luck with the move!
