Behringer Virtualizer as an effects box

Well, I got one of these for Christmas, and I thought I'd give it a little review for those of you looking for a cheap effects box to use for DJing.

First off, it sounds great, as it should for having 24 bit processing. The number of effect you get for the price is also very good. It's well built, and uses 1/8" mono jacks for input/output. Operation is pretty simple (one knob adjusts main settings like the patch, another set of four manipulate various effects settings, and one knob controls wet/dry, as well as allowing you to bypass [turn off] the effect if you press it).

All the effects work pretty much how they're specified in the manual. The flexability of the effects is probably greater than what you'll ever find built into a mixer, and every part of each effect is usually adjustable.

My only gripe is not being able to set the timers for delay more accurately (it adjusts by 5 ms), but it will probably be okay for most applications.

Well worth the money in my opinion. :)

Here's a sample of the reverb and delay combination effect used on talamasca - cancer. (there's pretty much limitless possibilites of things you could do with this box; another fun one is to use a little reverb to make it sound "live")

cancer - dry

cancer - wet

thank you for the review =)

im glad the effect box works, unlike the built in effects on my behringer djx700, where I have 100 different settings for "reverb" =)
