hmmm......well there are some logical reasons for the number of people (including TAs) whose birthdays are at the end of December.
1) couples wanted to have a "New Year's baby" and mis-calculated
2) babies born by December 31 can be claimed on the income taxes for the entire year (at least in the United States)
or
3) a whole lot of "spring f*cking fever" in April
