and a mastery of the english language is not a prerequisite of being a president. Also I am sure I have said things even more stupid than those. hehe.

/me wonders why no one ever brought up any of the verbal miscues of any of our former presidents when they were in office.

of yea thats right they didnt hate them. When someone speaks in public as much as Bush does and is under the ammount of constant stress as he is he's bound to make a blunder here or there, and while he probably is a moron these things stopped being funny about 2 weeks after he was sworn in.

its not a prerequisite; but when the person is representing your whole country to the world, he should be able to speak english ;)

the problem is he is texan and their english is pretty different to begin with.
