thats awesome....the christmas season puts alot of things in perspective....
as long as we're on the subject, I'd like to add a story of thanks to the topic ...
I was driving home from school to see my family, an 8+ hour drive, and got a flat on the way. I was 150 miles outside of the city and pretty much in the middle of nowhere. I pulled off the road and checked my tire. It looked like I might be able to make it to the rural gas station I saw back down the road. I took off, and it became soon apparent that the tire was getting flatter and flatter, and was starting to get torn up. I was forced off the highway and onto an offramp. I saw a deserted semi on the opposite side of the road. I preceeded to unload my car's trunk and take out the spare, and jack the car up. I lifted the car, put on the space-saver, and upon dropping the car again, noticed the spare was about as flat as the tire i was replacing. I'm thinking I'm really screwed at this point, way out of town, in the middle of nowhere, with essentially two flat tires. I was trying to figure out what to do when a man came out of the semi parked across the street. Turns out he was taking a nap and had his wife with him. I asked himi for a ride to a gas station to fill my spare, and instead he offered to fill it with the air compressor on his truck. After he did this, he tightened the valve on the stem and checked the pressure to make sure that it would make for a safe ride. I was speechless. I profusely told him thanks and tried to make conversation. He told me that he was heading home to see his family for christmas as well. I again thanked him, and even offered him some money for his time, which he refused and replied saying the best thing I could do is remember this and help someone in any way I could when they were in need. I shook his hand, and he was on his way, with a wave.
I'm so grateful for what this man did, God bless him. Sometimes its crazy how amazing people people can be in this world, where we have to worry about so many bad things happening. Like this man, there are many good people in this world, and I wish I could thank him again. If you guys actually do read my whole story, remember what he said to me, and help someone out when in need. |

Ill add one too. My friend is an insanely nice guy. Hes married and trying to become a doctor so he can give families with no insurance medical care if that helps you understand him. This last Christmas he scrapped together a grand or so in cash and surprised a family that was really poor with TONS of presents, gas cards, gift cards to grocery stores...everything. We work out at the same gym (hes also a competing body builder) and he was giving people free weight training lessons if they would donate some cash.
The parents cried and the children were sooooooo happy. He almost cried just telling me about it.
Such a success he wants to do it for a different family every Christmas now. |

you don't see too much of that these days. i can't really afford to do it now, but my mom always participates in this "adopt a family" for christmas. you basically buy gifts for a whole family since they are too poor to do it themselves. i've helped her shop for the gifts though...the kids usually have a wish list. she even includes a gift certificate for a grocery store so they can have a nice dinner. when i have a good paying career i will definitely get involved in stuff like that.
i'll say a prayer for your son and i hope you and your family have a happy and healthy new year:) |

| when i make millions im gonna fly over some 3rd world country and dump money out of a plane...then im gonna make them make a huge gold statue of myself getting head....then every person will get one in their house and they have to pray to it every day...and if they dont ill shoot them...HAIL ERIC!!! |

Not having had the best Christmas myself (because of family things) that story really made my day. It's good to see some decent people in the world, what with all the needless killing and violence.
