Almanacs: A Tool for Terrorists

It certainly looks like it supposed to be real. It's an AP story on the Fox News website.
"WASHINGTON — The FBI is warning police nationwide to be alert for people carrying almanacs, cautioning that the popular reference books covering everything from abbreviations to weather trends could be used for terrorist planning."
But wait... It gets better.
"In a bulletin sent Christmas Eve to about 18,000 police organizations, the FBI said terrorists may use almanacs "to assist with target selection and pre-operational planning."
"It urged officers to watch during searches, traffic stops and other investigations for anyone carrying almanacs, especially if the books are annotated in suspicious ways."
And the Associated Press swears they're not making this up.
"The Associated Press obtained a copy of the bulletin this week and verified its authenticity."
The FBI noted that use of almanacs or maps may be innocent, "the product of legitimate recreational or commercial activities." But it warned that when combined with suspicious behavior — such as apparent surveillance — a person with an almanac "may point to possible terrorist planning."
The FBI said information typically found in almanacs that could be useful for terrorists includes profiles of cities and states and information about waterways, bridges, dams, reservoirs, tunnels, buildings and landmarks. It said this information is often accompanied by photographs and maps.
oMY GOD LOL.....now we cant keep almanacs anymore , becouse we are planning a terrorist attack, so whats next????
Cant buy cleaning products becouse they will think you planning a terrorist attack? |

blame the terrorist, not the fbi.
its not ridiculous if you konw they aren't arresting people for having almanacs, but it is a sign. Just like having papers is a sign you might have weed, but it doesn't mean you definitly have it. |

| Anybody ever think that there giving terrorists ideas, I bet before, they had to try real hard to find info on locations in America, but now the FBI has said this, there all like "hey lets buy almanacs" and now its alot easier for them, I dunno, I'm tired. |

And like having a head is a sign that you might have some brains in it, but it doesnt mean you definetly have it (guvernor Bush for example) |
