can anyone explain Lydian mode phrases in relation to chords?

I have been told certain chords when used in conjunction with repetative lydian mode phrases(?) can make melodies sound a lot fuller. However, I have no idea what a lydian mode phrase is!

Anyone care to explain in relatively simple terms - preferably with examples if thats not being too cheeky ;)

The lydian mode is T-T-T-S-T-T-S (T = Tone, S = Semitone). So if you just wanted to use the white notes on a piano (the key of C major) the lydian mode would start on F. F,G,A,B,C,D,E. You can use any chords with those notes in (or any other chord as you see fit ;))
