Has anyone got a tutorial or any tips for creating a sweet trance plucked sound?
Feel free to post examples. :) |

Most of it is in the filter envelope. Use a low pass filter and get the filter decay and sustain so that it plucks the filter.

Having just checked my soft synths I cannot find one that allows me to modulate the filter release using the filter envelope. Any ideas on which soft synths can do this.
I've checked V Station, absynth, pro 53 and it doesn't look like it can be done on any of them! Bugger! :( |

you can do it easily with v-station and pro-53, thats what teh filter envelopes do ;)

Sorry Luke I must be having a blonde moment but how do you get the filter envelope to MODULATE the filter release in either pro53 or v-station?
I've made a pro53 preset of the closest I can get.....Feel free to give any pointers/ advice on how I can make it better:

With a mod matrix. The tutorial was written for the virus, so all this recursive crap meant for that, or anything else with a modulation matrix. Not something you find on many softies. |

Just found this VSTi, String Thing, it is basically a plucked string synth based on the Karplus-Strong algorithm.
