Whats the Deal with SENSATION?

OK, I've seen a few videos of sensation, I think TA posted the 2001 and 2002 johan gielen videos, and there is also that 2003 anthem music video.
Anyways, what is it, where is, and why is everybody wearing white? Do the bouncers not let you in if you wear colors? And the place is bigger than a football stadium. Is it a convention hall? |

Sensation is a party held in the Amsterdam Arena, footballstadium of Ajax. So indeed a football stadium. Approx 38,000 people can attend each party. Sensation is not the largest indoorparty in the wordl, that's Innercity with 45,000 people.
Sensation 2004 will have 2 parties: White (3 July) and Black (10 July). White represents Club & Trance, Black represents Techno & Hardstyle. White and Black are the dresscodes, but if you wear anything else it's no problem.
The acoustic of the Arena is crap. Public transportation can be better. Personally not my favourite party of the year.
And imo ID$T can book way better DJ's then they have done before. |

The broadcasts suck, too! Either the previous dj & some ID&T journalist is talking over half of the set, or the broadcast just facks up with commercials every 10th minute.
Armin played a decent set @ White last summer, though, if you like the combination of Uplifting Trance & a few Tribal tunes.
Personally, I can't stand Sensation. Even if I haven't been there yet, I've heard WAY better things about an event! |

It's all about the visuals, not the music. No soundsytem in the world can fill the Arena :(
Did you know they actually have microphones in the stadium to amplify the sound that people watching the soccer games make, because the acoustic is so bad you would otherwise hear anything...

Wow it looks like a gay circuit party...lol Like Black and Blue or the White Party...lol Except those poeple have their shirts on...lol
I love Europe:) that would never happen in North America..:(

I went to sensation this past summer, both black and white./.. I think it's something great to experience, like JP said, the visuals are awesome... don't expect the best dj's or best sets either... a lot of people who go to sensation are not really trance/partyminded at all but rather come because it's "Sensation" and it's "cool" if you went there....
I however have no regrets of going, I was with some friends and had a blast and loved Armin's set. One of the most beautiful parties I've been, but not the BEST ;) |

| man after i saw sensation on teh internet i just fell in love wit it. it looks soo amazing. i personally like the white edition better than the black. so i wanna go to it when im on legal age :) even tho i live in canada and itll cost me a fortune, itll be worth it |

Ha ././ you know what's funny? ... Yesterday I had a dream that I collected some money for the trip to Holland and flew there, visiting Amsterdam and attending Sensation, Dance Valley and Innercity among other clubs/events. In it everything was awesome and it was the best experience ever (the dream, of course), with a twist - I didn't have enough money to get back to Canada (f-king scared me pretty well), and thats when I woke up ... LOL :haha: :eyespop: :toothless |
