What to buy?

Ok so I got everything I needed for Christmas, now I'm going to get a mixer and I kind of know what I want. It's either the Xone:92 or Xone:62. Here is the thing, money is not the big of a concern. It's just that I don't want to waste it. For example there is a rebate on the Xone:62, which make it a better buy. But is there a lot more advantage to getting the Xone:92? So what I'm saying is that is it worth paying the extra $ for the Xone:92. I only play trance and prog. if that is any concern. And I don't really know how to use the special effects on the Xone92 mixer.

Thanks for your help

I'm not familiar with the price difference, but do you really need all those channels? how about saving that money (specially because it's a new mixer which always comes with a high price) and buy a separate effects unit like the Kaoss Pad 2 or the Pioneer EFX-500 (or whatever it is called?) and more vinyl? that's what I'd do anyways :)

I was in the same predicament as you were a month ago. I decided to buy the Xone:62 (cost me $800) because they are practically the same mixer, except the :92 has a few extra things that you really dont need unless your gonna be using it at clubs. Save the $700-800 that you would use to buy the :92 and get other stuff - vinyl maybe?

I agree. Also you might consider even though A & H makes top notch quality products, it may have bugs, who knows. Let it be thoroughly tested for a few months. It's a lot of money.

The only real difference with the effects is that you can assign the VCF filter differently but I'm not so sure it's needed.

Honestly speaking I actually find that effects units are a waste of money and often don't provide a high enough quality unless you get some of the more expensive ones.
I have a Kaos pad and the effects are often too similar to each other and the sampler is absolute bollocks! I think the Kaos pad 2 sorted out the level problems but not sure.
My friend uses a guitar effects rack and the result is far more interesting than any of those units could ever be (not suggesting you try it but it's a thought...)

My verdict would be to get the Xone 62 but only because I don't think the difference in price is justified compared to what you get for it. One the other hand, you just can't go wrong with an A & H mixer.

Cheers
Nem

EDIT - Ah yes Benito... more vinyl. We like your style ;)

Great, I think that I will go with Xzone:62 and save a few $, the only thing that I really like about Xone:92 is the led's. Is $1500 CAD to much for it? is there a better price for it?

Does RiksMusic have the $200 rebate? Because its not a manufacturer rebate, its a store rebate that A&H hand selects to allow to give out.

unless you dj like richie hawtin, using two computers and final scratch and external effects units i would save the cash you have and buy a 62, altho with the 92 you have more bragging rights.:D
