You don't just "become gay". I'm not gay. The problem is that I don't have much in common with the majority of females. I have much of nothing to speak to them about. They don't want to hear my BS, no matter how interesting it is at first, because later on, they discover that that's how I always act and what they thought was interesting the first time they heard something similar, is NOT what they wish to hear too much. They aren't looking for "Did you know...?" sentences almost hourly or daily... I've never met a girl who wanted to bother with me for more than about 25 contiguous days...

Did you know that the total area of the earth is about 40'000 km?
Did you know that a CD spins at about 500 RPM at the beginning but, 200 RPM near the end when playing in a regular CD player?
Did you know that the CD's original maximum length of 74 minutes was based off of Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No. 9?
Did you know that Vatican City is the smallest nation in the world?
Did you know that Japan has about half of the US total population in a land area less than the size of California?
Did you know that the tropical year is exactly 365.24219 days long and getting longer, as of 2000-01-01?
Did you know that the sun rises in the east & sets in the west only TWICE per year?
Did you know that our athmosphere is about 8'000 km thick? Did you know our land on this planet is made up of about fifteen tectonic plate, like a jigsaw puzzle? When an earthquake occurs, it's two plates rubbing against each other.
Did you know that there are 88 visable constellations in the night sky?
Did you know that the Middle East's week works slightly different?: They work from Saturday to Thursday at noon and am off from noon Thursdays to Saturday. Our Monday is already their 3rd workday. |

sorry to break it to you, but if you really want to find a girl, then your gonna have to change almost everything (at least it seems that way, telling from your posts). nothing wrong with listening to a cd player when theres no one to talk to, but if you do plan on socializing (which youre eventually going to do, if you want to find that girl), then i suggest you dont have your headphones on you when someone may be considering talking to you.
and go out for your lesuire once in a while! |

you sound a lot like me, only I'm 27, and never had a gf. I only talk if I have something to say, etc. I've read all the dating advice on the net I could find from Ross Jeffries Speed Seduction, David DeAngelo's Cocky & Funny routines, Mike Pilinski's Male Dominance's ebooks, Doc Love's the System and so on... Never knew they're was dating advice for men, cause lots of us need it bad. Women have it easy, cause they got dozens of magazines.
Then I realized it's all silly. Having a girlfriend, like having lots of money doesn't necessarily make you happy. (Money doesn't buy happiness et al) I know people in miserable marriages cause they bought the societal lie. Just go out and make your life's goal "the pursuit of happiness" I actually find hanging out with people 1 on 1 very boring for the most part, so I just dont do it. I would much rather spend hours listening to music or playing video games. Having a gf is one area of life where people need to seriously start saying "dont do it, just because everyone else is" |

Well, if he's from the US and is seeking a girl from Tokyo area, I think it's unlikely he'll stumble upon her in a local bar, you know. Besides, you can find some quite nice and interesting girls on the internet. I know it sounds kinda lame, but some of them are really ok persons.
Now, ali, I don't know about Trillian, but icq has the "search people by keyword" option, and when I typed in "female trance Japan" I got like 25 hits. Btw, I knew most of the things you mentioned, but you got one wrong. The cicrcumference of the earth is 40000km, not the area ;) The early kilometer was defined as 1/40000 of the circumference of earth. :p
But really, as all the people said here, you have to change your attitude if you want to get girls.
Oh, and one more thing, you were all wrong about the sunset, but I'm too lazy to elaborate on it now :) |

Hmm, never had a g/f and live in Rochester... I don't blame you, the girls there are pretty crazy! My ex was from Victor/Farmington and was a whacko!...
Though to Ali - I've honestly found more girls interested in video games than trance. Although I've found a few girls who are interested in trance as well... And even fewer who are interested in both. Usually the kinds of girls who are into this kinda stuff aren't very noticeable and don't really stand out, you have to do a bit of digging. They're out there.. plus you can always try to get girls interested in your interests. Though that doesn't usually work well. (Then again, I try to get the girls listening to Sasha and Tiesto CDs before getting them to listen to Lasgo and DJ Sammy, so I'm probably at fault for that) |

Yes, that would irritate just about anyone, guy or girl. No offense, but I'm an electrical engineer, I'm very well used to highly technical topics of conversation, and that "did you know" thing would even irritate me.
What you're basically saying is that you're incapable of carrying on a conversation. That is not good, and even though you've taken the first step and accepted this about yourself, you need to take the next step and change it. You need to get out there, meet people, TRY to just chit chat, listen to other people and the things they talk about... even rent some of those movies starring stupid people and listen to that.
To put it simply, it sounds like you can't talk about anything personal - either yourself or the person you're with - and unfortunately for you, almost every friendship or romance hinges on that kind of talking.
