Seattle based airlines?

I am going to be moving to the Seattle area soon and I was curious what airlines were based out of there. I imagine I'm gonna be taking several trips to San Fran and wanted to get a frequent flyer program with an airline that would be good for such trips there and elsewhere. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Alaska & Horizon are "Based" in Seattle. Everyone else flies there. Direct flights on the west coast is best bet with Alaska/Horizon (AS/QX). Southwest flies to the "bay area" not SF though. AS/QX flies to all those airports.
United/Skywest also has a stronger west coast presence. All other carriers hub via points east...or South.

Southwest has a decent FF program...it's like fly 8 times get a freebie...not sure.

AS/QX has a good program and networks miles with most everyone else. Also, the Alaska Visa is good ...gets you miles for $ spent. Double on stuff, and 5000 to sign up, plus a $50 companion pass, board room passes, and upgrade passes every year you have the card (the yearly fee is $85...so do the math that's a $135 round trip companion pass a year to anywhere they fly.)

Plus I fly for them...so I know the inside scoop on our own program, etc....so I'm biases toward Alaska/Horizon :D

Cheers.

Southwest flies in and out of Oakland, which, when using the subways, is about the same distance time wise as SFO (which is a little south of San Francisco) and can often be far cheaper than any other airline.
