Here's something which has been on my mind recently, and I'd be interested on yr thoughts on the subject:
You know how many remixes often bare very little resemblance to the original track (a lot of the point of a remix) but usually contain some element of the original track; a noise, part of a riff, etc. With the track Madagascar, I cannot see any resemblance at all between Ferry Corsten's remix and the original by Art of Trance...
Am I crazy?
What other examples of this sort of thing spring to mind?

| The Klubbheads remix of the Vengaboys "Boom*4" has *no* resemblance with the original (thank god). I (sort of) agree with you on the Ferry Corsten remix of Art of Trance. I thought the original was one of the better tracks ever made, but the remix did nothing for me. |

Don´t know a remix with no resemblance. I do know a couple of renixes where you can barely here that its a remix of the original song
examples:
The aiscape remix of the Vengaboys´Kiss ---> the original naturally sucks but the airscape remix is a very cool trance track, also popular with the Dj´s!!(Tiesto energy 2000 for instance)
The Rank 1 remix of Cygnus X´s Superstring ---> Surely you can hear that its a mix of the original but its sooooo much cooler then the original. Its much harder and much cooler strings. |
